Dragon Claw side quest

I HAVE THE DRAGON CLAW IN MY INVENTORY, so why can't I give it to the merchant? THX in advance

Have you completed "Bleak Falls Barrow"? In other words, have you actually used the claw?

IIRC, you can't give it back unless you do (ie: you NEED it).

Yes, I used the claw to get out and back to town, the only thing I can think of is that I broke my last pick on the chest just before the door. Do I need something out of the chest?

No

Did you get the shout - unrelenting force? You should have got it just before or just after defeating the final Draugr.

PS You should have got the Dragon Stone as well.
