I suppose under the same menu as avatar & class? Apart from that: changing the avatar won't do, I assume?

Unfortunately no. I started with a female up to the end and I want Jahiera in TOB.

Perhaps not a perfect solution, but there are mods out there that make the romances accessible for every race/gender. I believe they're even in the Tweaks or Ease of Use pack.
