Staff of Curing

I have the staff of curing and am in the underdark. I noticed that the staff is worth something like 4 million gold to the druggar guys at the beginning of this area. Is it a bug or am I missing something. I thought about selling it to them and either buying it back if it resets the correct price or stealing it from them. Any idea why it is so valuable to them?

thats treu, the staff is worth a lot to them.
but u can buy it back for little money but then u can't sell it for 4 million

it is just a bug think
