Roleplaying In Atkathla
I was under the impression that we were trying to keep the story going, not bring it to an early close. I think Aegis has been itchin' for a fight, though, ever since the beginning when Ubik passed on him. So far, the action's just been Waverly vs. the goodies! More power to Wank... er, Waverly!
@Magus, either one of them (Raistlin or Aegis) can be brought down with one backstab. What's the problem.
@Vehem...- Anyone's free to join. We'd welcome you to either side. (if that makes sense )

Backstabbing wretch?!? You spell-casting sissy-boy! BTW- I make no promises. Even if I did, would you really trust me?!? Heh, heh! You will be felled from power!

Honestly Rail, I wouldn't know where to jump in... theres too much here for me to catch up on... I'll catch the next ride
Sethak the Samuri Warrior sharpens his Katanas Heyti and Jatha in eager await.
Narcin, a powerful Mage flips through the many pages of his spell book.
And Draelith the cunning assassin spins his dagger Inkar in anticipation...
Well actually Draelith is currently on another adventure at the moment (see the Stone of Mythos thread below) but Sethak and Narcin are still as eager

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

Thanks buddy! I must say I'm enjoying writing it

@Aegis: Yeah, I suppose your right. I considered Raistlin’s ambition, and I considered that you would lose power...guess it’s just that defeatist streak. It probably comes from a growing weariness of a weariness of school, you know. I suppose I’ll just have to stretch the limits of the power intended for a level 18 mage. Of course, isn’t that what I’ve been doing all along .
Here goes my part for today...
An oppresive silence falls over the group as they each cope with the situation in their own way. Trip-Wire hurries to help Magus, who has just reawakened. Fallout hesitates, but follows Trip-Wire's lead and goes to Aerie's aid. Rail stands aloof, his feelings deadened, his only thoughts of survival and escape from this dangerous and unpredictable world.
Trip-Wire reaches Magus. Magus begins to sit up, confused and drowsy from his flirtation with death. Trip-Wire offers his hand to help, and Magus smiles warmly before taking it and pulling himself up.
Once standing, he clears his mind and begins to survey the situation. Immediately he feels...empty. The bond that linked him and Void is broken, which could only mean he is gone. Magus is struck deeply, but he remains calm and perceptive. This is no time to lose his head.
Next, he locates the rest of the party. Trip-Wire stands near observing him closely, while Rail stands apart, tense and alone.
Then he sees Fallout, who is kneeling over Aerie's prostrate form. He rushes over to her side. Fallout backs away and lets Magus tend to her while Trip-Wire hurries over. Her pulse is weak but present; her breathing is shallow. Physically, he can find nothing wrong with her. Magus quickly turns to Fallout. “What’s wrong with her?” he asks rapidly but firmly, concealing his emotions.
Fallout shakes his head. Seeing no other recourse, Magus concentrates and sends his consciousness into Aerie’s mind. He sees her entire life flash before his eyes in a brief moment. When he comes to, he knows exactly what happened in his absence as Aerie saw it. He knows of Aegis, and he knows of the entity.
Safe in the knowledge that Aerie will recover, he slows down and pieces the puzzle together. It all makes sense now... No wonder he did not feel the sense when he awoke; the burden of power that had driven him mad... The power had been given life to avoid disaster at the hands of Aegis.
It takes unaccustomed effort to do what was once effortless, but Magus sends out his mind again to connect with the entity’s mind. It speaks first, and everyone hears the conversation in their mind.
IT IS YOU, CREATOR. I HAVE RESTORED YOU. I WAS FORCED TO ELIMINATE ONE WHO WISHED ME HARM.
You killed Void? Why did you do such a thing?! Magus is upset.
HE HURT ME, CREATOR. I HAD TO DESTROY HIM. The entity is uncertain and uneasy.
Why would he hurt you?
I DON’T KNOW, CREATOR, I DON’T KNOW. HE WAS FULL OF ANGER. The entity seems to be pleading.
Magus shakes his head. This was getting nowhere. Unless... He sighs. Mind probing is against everything Magus believes in, but yet again it seems the best course of action. He needs information fast to have a hope of bringing Void back. And besides, he needs to know more about this tremendous power that now resides in his Rift. So far it had proven behaviorly unstable, and that was simply dangerous with friends still around.
Allow me to see your memories, that I may understand you and what you’re trying to say...
AS YOU WISH, CREATOR.
Once again, memories flash through Magus’s mind, but these are like a brief instant in time compared to Aerie’s long life. When Magus’s eyes refocus, he knows, and he understands...
@Rail and Fallout: Sorry, I know I left that unfinished. But it’s 1:00 in the morning here and I still got homework. You can ask Magus some questions if you want. Or you can simply have your character ponder the meaning of this whirlwind of events. I’ll try and finish this tomorrow (today?), but I make no promises.
@Aegis: You’ll just have to be patient a bit longer. I’m not going to any final battle without wrapping up my precious character plot first!
@Vehemence: Fetch a sword and hop right in! We’d be happy to have you. The door to the Rift’s open if you want to just step in...then leave the rest of the introductions to me. BTW: I’d advise against bringing more than two characters into the story. Two’s fine. More than that and it gets really hard to keep up with them.

Lost Souls: A bereft lover. A masterless familiar. Friends gone their separate ways. Time marches on, and destiny heralds the meeting of comrades old and new. Can they find what they're seeking? Or will the search bring them only more pain?
Okay, I have resisted the temptation for a long time, but I can no longer. I want to submit a character. Just let me know where I start:
My character is of course a dwarven battlerager.

Flagg, are you good or evil? (it's so hard to tell with you! ) If you're on my side, I'd encourage you to use your signature more often!
Hey! Hop in anytime. I've been trying to find a smooth way to bring in KidD90210, but I don't think that's ever going to happen, at this rate.

@Rail, What does my signature have to do with being good or evil?? I guess that I am a chaotic good dwarven battlerager.
description of character:
Flagg is dressed in a dwarvenplate with spikes potruding at elbows, shoulders, knees, gloves, and helmet. For some unknown reason the armor is heavily dented.
Where do I start??

Hmmmmmm, this story has advanced too far for me to have any significant part in it. Well it doesn't matter, here is some nonsense instead:
A couple of days back, in the planar sphere (where the REAL bad guys hang out):
Omar,Waverly and Gruntboy are sitting around the table playing advanced spamming and posting with Weasel, the most noble of the fallen cavaliers,as the spamming master. It is the Gamebanshee campaign setting...
Their leader Ubik is,as always, busy in his bedroom with his familiar and Viconia.
---Waverly:"I choose the flirting ranger as my character, with girls as my racial enemies!"
---Gruntboy:"I choose to be a geordie.I will give up my pants and therefore gain the ability to wield three weapons."
---Weasel:"Why don't you pick the Papua kit Gruntboy? Then you can leave your pants, use two weapons and you can place the horn of blasting in your third weapon slot,in true Papua style!"
---Gruntboy:"OK?!?!"
---Omar:"I...I....hmmmm..."
But then suddenly
---Ubik:"HIIIIIIIIIGGGHRGRGRGR!!!YEEHAAAH!!"
---Viconia:"Gurgle,gurgle,slurp,slurp..."
Somewhat absently Gruntboy carves a line in the wall behind him.
---Gruntboy:"That was number 24."
---Waverly:"It seems you will win this bet Omar."
---Omar:"Yeah,but I cheated a bit. I know an- other necromancer, one of Ubik's friends; he lives in Sigil, had his base set up in the Mortuary, was riding day and night..."
---Waverly:"Of course! I should have known better!I heard Ubik cast a spell when he just retreated into his bedroom. It must have been raise dead!"
---Omar:"I cannot choose between these characters,hmmm..."
To be continued....?!?
At the current moment,Omar has been partially digested by one of Aegis' Pit Fiends,he fought bravely though. Somewhere in the Slums his undigested part can be found on a garbage heap, where the Pit Fiend had his bathroom stop. If anyone is in for a Raise Dead, make sure that my body is complete;use spare parts if necessary...
@All:If you object to the above scenario, send your complaints to Buck or something.

@Magus, A proposition on how I enter the adventure.
The last thing that Flagg could remember was that he was battling a group of drow elves. He could clearly remember the look of unbelieve in their eyes as he lowered his head and stormed them. If it wasn't for that blasted mage, he would have skewered one or two. Damm that blasted mage. Feeling groggy, Flagg looked up and started looking around. He was clearly in an area where he hasn't been before. Blasted mages with their bloody teleportation spells. Mumbling all kind of dwarven curses, Flagg got up and promised to skewer the first beasty or drow that he would run into, without asking any questions. Clerics could always do that afterwards.

Melosh dreamed the dreams and nightmares of Bodhi's victims. Bodhi's feelings were infusing into Melosh. He saw the pain and triumphs that she had went through. Right up to her death.
Kathla sat next to Melosh, watching him mumble and thrash around in his sleep. Voprey walks in;
"You think he's going to make it?
Kathla looks at her brother with tired eyes.
"Yes, the infusing is going smoothly."
"How much longer? Voprey asks. "We don't have much time . I think there is going to be problems with the Drow.
"The Drow?" Kathla frowns, looks at Melosh. "He won't be ready yet."
"Maybe, we should build and army?"
"Voprey, don't be and idiot. Melosh told you to wait."
"We don't really need him do we? Lets kill him and get away from here, the hell with what Bodhi wanted."
Voprey moves quickly towards Melosh. Kathla, suddenly gets out of the chair, grabs Voprey by the neck, and lifts him off the floor, bearing her fangs.
"Listen you stupid, son of a b!tch! We won't last much longer, if Melosh dies. You know that. I sent messages to those who are left. If you can't wait, then leave. But, if you do, don't come back."
Voprey leaves mumbling to himself. Standing, looking at the moon. The moon was full and bright in the night sky. Voprey sees a shadowy figure next to one of the tombs.
"Voprey, my servant, come here."
"Bodhi? Is that you???"
The shadow straightens. "Worse." The voice growls. Melosh's sword flashes in the moon light. The sound of steel hitting bone and flesh. Voprey's head rolls to Tacker's feet. Melosh walks to over to Tacker, picks up Voprey's head.
"Tacker, bury the body in a field away from here."
"Yes, master."
Melosh walks over to an unknown soldiers tomb and places Voprey's head on it.
"Enjoy the sunrise."
Melosh walks back into the lair. Takes Kathla's hand, looks into her eyes."Sorry about your brother, but he will no longer bother us."
Melosh turns and looks to those in the room. His eyes turn dark.
"It's time to take back the night. You two, go to the Sphere and bring Quayle here. Do it quickly."
@Flagg: If you get away from your anal exam. I'm at the tombs.
