Spelling was correct. I was checking meaning...this is after all a family forum Image

As for your stories, I am most impressed that you can write so well in your second language. Other than a few phrases, the only other language I can speak is Latin- and stories about the Senator's missing toga are a bit dated (by about 1600 years) Image

About the same...stay off the side streets and hold on to all the beads you can....

then throw the beads to get a flash..

@Waverly: I may be Canadian, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good fight every now and then! Besides, I think one of the instigators was originally from the states Image

Aegis:

Do Canadians always dislike Americans? I'm just wondering... I've never been either of them.

Canadians and Americans are cut from the same cloth. Often Canadians are more polite, except for Fighting Aegis here. I think most of the ribbing is mutually good natured.

All bets are off in Quebec, although I really enjoy Montreal. Image

@Waverly: I've never been to Canada....I believe I read I don't need a passport to go there right?

I remember, about a year ago, a Canadian comedian was on a TV chat show. When he was asked why Canadians don't like Americans, he answered, "Just imagine living next to them all the time!" Image

No passport necessary. You are supposed to need some ID (ie drivers license), but they usually don't even ask for that. I can recommend the Canadian side of the falls, Toronto, Niagra on the Lake, and Montreal if you ever decide to go there.

@Minerva
I think Canadians sometimes tire of the avalanche of American culture coming over the border. They have little chance to develop their own- and I really don't blame them.

I'm from Europe, the only distinction I make between Canedians and Americans is that Canedians are a little less loud. Image

And I really want to visit all over the world so Canada is not exception. (bro has been there, seen a variety of eagles I heard.)

Waverly: So I did get it right? (haha)

Melosh-tar: Hockey? The non-icy kind? I hate it since I got one of them damn hard balls agains my leg. (I was black and blue for weeks) And I hate watching is so I don't think they're missing out on anything.

Minerva: When I was touring Ireland last year we ran into lots of Americans. One girl was travelling alone. We asked her why. She told us that she hated Americans when on vacation, so she wouldn't travel with one if her life depended on it. Made us laugh... Image

I love Ireland! Both in the north and south, people are nicer than in Eng... Oops, my fingers slipped. Well, I live in England and it's not always nice here, I'm afraid. But, of course, there are no heavenly place in the world and you should expect bad experience as well as good one when travelling. And, in anyway, travelling one place is one thing, living there is quite another...

Yeah I love it too... The green, the sheep, the beer, the language (the accent!!) and the people. I've only been in the south, touring a few of the larger cities. We had so much fun in the pubs... All those little old men asking us where we were from
man: So where are you from?
me: the Netherlands
man: I don't believe you
me: Why not?
man: Here, let me buy you a beer, Guinness it is?
me: Sure, thanks
man: You sound American
me: Oh really?
man: Yes, so where are you really from?
me: The Netherlands.

It was fun... so much fun. They thought our English was too good to be from a not-English speaking country. (and I seem to have an American accent) And you don't often get singing lads with guitars in Holland. (no real pubs either... Image)

I was once mistaken for an English! I am a Japanese, and I look Japanese (I've never been mistaken even for a Chinese). Anyway, I was in Florence 6 years ago, and this Italian guy approached me, "Did you come from England?"
Now, I AM from Japan but I DID COME from England. So I said yes Image. It's a truth! He hardly speak English, and I only know a few Italian. Then, he asked me for coffee, saying, "Because I always like English girls like you. And I want to marry an English girl"!! Okay, I was wearing a pair of sunglasses, but how on earth he could think I was an English??? That was really weired.

No. She is a godess of knowledge and war for ... how can I say, umm... for a rightful reason or cause, unlike Mars who loves bloody wars for whatever reason. She is like Athena in ancient Greece. Having said that, I didn't check before registering here, so it is possible I made fool myself Image

Minerva = Pallas Athena in Greek myth. You were right. The godess of wisdom carrying an owl around. (and I could tell a lot more but it wouldn't interest anyone... Image)

Melosh-tar: I guess that last comment was meant for me since I asked... I don't know anything about Icehockey. We don't play it much in Holland. All I know is that it's a violent sport.
