As good as BG?
I have never played planescape:torment but I have finished both BG2-soA and BG2-ToB. Is it a good idea for me to by Planescape then? is it good?
I wager the turnip market is making a killing today!
amazing interaction with characters, your alignment changes based on your actions and dialogue options. great NPCs that effect the outcome of the game.
a truly astonishing game world.
it is the most unique game i have ever played.

I would be a serial killer if i didn't have such a strong distaste for manual labor

different dialogues with diferent characters will give new abilitiea and increased attributes. the tattoos can be swapped out with new ones, a guy will make new ones based on your experiences.
and yes...soem NPCs are hard to find...i never found one of them...

PST is a game for mages, Int, Wis and Cha are the stats to have. It really is a brilliant game

IMO Planescape is a better game than BG2. And replay value is certainly better!
I found all NPC:s, and I think it added a lot to their characters that they don't join you immediately after a short standard conversation about "fighting evil". As Aegis said, you need to convince them to go with you.
The NPC interaction is great, but you have to remember to talk to your PNPC:s, they are not giving everything away automatically. IMO the NPC:s are more interesting and deeper characters than in BG2.
I would not say P:T is a game for mages. My husband played mostly as a mage, whereas I went through the game mostly as a fighter, and I think both are equally good. Playing as a thief should be fine too. It's just a question of different alternatives to solve a situation.

@Rob-hin: I agree with Aagis, I didn't even think about the lower resolution. The story line is so great, so I got absorbed very quickly. What might bother some gamers (me, for instance) is the interface. After the BG-series, the P:T interface might feel a bit clumsly and slow initially. It took me about 1-2 hours to get used to it. My husband gave up after about 30 minutes, but then he restarted the next day, and got used it rather quickly. I think it's a good idea to start the game when you have some time to spare, maybe 2 hours, so you can overcome potential interface problems.

true this is one of the first things that came to mind when I had to think about the diffrence between BG and PT. The story is great and there is a lot of reading even much more that BG but it doesn't matter cuz the story is so good.

The low res actually helps, it gives each character more, well, character. You see Annah with her tail, Da'kon with his sword, and so on.

It's different from BG2 for sure. Replay value? I have to disagree. I'd say out of all the Infinity Engine games PST has the *least* replay value.

The TOB interface is absolutely wonderful compared to what I have just encountered in Pool of Radiance... UGH... but I've only played for an hour or so... sigh... let's see if I can get used to it.
Gonna try out Arcanum soon too, no idea what -that- interface will be like, but I'm really REALLY appreciating the Infinity engine right now.
