TotSC; when to explore.

Post by matrixviking »

Just a question of curiousity; I loaded all of BG1 and TotSC at the same time and I'm going through it. I've noticed the stuff that got added when TotSC came out, but wonder; do I wait for 'hints' to go visit these areas or do I just go visit them at leisure?

Thanks!

You can visit whenever you want, but I would reccomend you only do the village (Ulgroths Beard?) when you've done everything outside Baldur's Gate, and you only do Durlags Tower, when you've done pretty much everything that won't end the game :)

You can go to those areas whenever you want to, but the sooner you go, the harder it will be 'cause you'll still be low on lvl.
No spoilers intended, but if you want to take on, for instance, Durlag's Tower with a lvl 2 thief, you won't make it.

Well, I may head out of the city and head for Ulgroth's Beard just for the heck of it. I'm trying to get Imoen up in Illusionist so that she can go back to thieving...argh.

Well, since my last post we're now in Durlag's Tower. Very spooky. *SPOILER* Our guide gets wiped by a Death Knight. Whoa! Coolness!
Our average level is around 7th or so. I have Myself (8th lvl Ranger), Imoen (8th level Ill, 6th lvl thief), Jaheira (Ftr/Druid..I think she's 7/6 or 7/7), Whathisname, Jaheira's b-friend...I think he's 8th, Dynaheir (8th-9th lvl Mage), and the Gnome Ill/Cleric. Imoen could stand to be higher but with Jaheira the Gnome with Find Traps and the mages all set with lotsa Knock we may get through this alive!

Wish me luck!

Good luck and have fun. I still think Durlag's Tower is the best darn dungeon in the whole BG series. Watcher's Keep is also a lot of fun, but Durlag's is spookier and better done IMO.

All hail, Durlag's tower.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Robe of Vecna - $19,200
Crom Faeyr - $10,000
Plate of Balduran - $28,200
Watching Jon Irenicus be hurtled to the depths of the abyss by a horde of Manes -- Priceless
Indeed...I'm sorta stuck right now (see different topic), but enjoying myself.
