Having trouble using Bard's spells in BG1...

I cant seem to get Garracks spells to activate...Why Not????? is this a bug in the BG1 game ????I have been playing now for about a month.I finished the game but ended up dropping Garack from my party because his spells didn't work.He would copy them ok, and Mem them ok, but when he went to cast them...they would be not activated in his spell slots they where in his spell slots but dark and not accesable...Does anyone know why? or is anyone having the same problem???

If he is wearing armor he can't cast spells. Garrick has to be basically naked to cast spells, since he can't wear mage robes either. Get him some gauntlets that give ac (think maybe gauntlets ac6 are the best you can get in BG1-from Devaorn in the Cloakwood mines) and use those level 1 armor spells and/or potions of defense if there is any chance of him getting in the thick of the battle. Otherwise, just keep his naked butt in the back of the line with his crossbow.
