Master Mages - I seek your help!

Post by Holy Grud »

I have a fairly basic spell guide on my site in terms of which spells are worth memorising and which not.

However I haven't completed ToB yet (still in Sendai's enclave) and haven't really been able to evaluate the new high level mage and priest spells. I am seeking opinions from anybody who has committed major carnage with their spell-casters as to which are their favourite higher level spells. The only spells I have had much success with are Summon Planetar and Summon Elemental Prince because they take a lot of damage and keep summoned monsters off your back while you take out the enemy mages/lichs.

Any contributions will be much appreciated either in this forum or via pj@dudleyville.com ! :)

Energy Blade spell is very good spell which is often overlooked. It will ignore magic resistance (made of pure energy) :) It's much like magic missile in old days. Extremely useful against highly magic resistant monsters but it's useful against almost everything! Guaranteed to reduce ~60 HP per round (it's not that much, I know, but it helps a lot).

1. Summon Planetar
2. Improved Alacrity (only if you have Robe of Vecna)
3. Dragon's Breath - have a very fast casting time, igore magic resistance cause massive damage and blow away
