Every game has its, um, features, which are limitations that you'll run across sooner or later. Knowing in advance can save you a lot of grief, and this seemed like a good place to list 'em:
Don't always go with the default armor/weapons choices of your followers--sometimes, they'll make no sense at all. For instance, I've discovered that a techno-follower might ready a magical weapon, whose potential is greater than the mundane weapon in their inventory; but that magical weapon won't reach its potential in their hands, since they don't use magic. You'll also find that followers prefer the heaviest hitting weapons, even if they're devastatingly slow.
Don't give potions or salves you've created to followers to hold. They'll use 'em even if they don't need 'em.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I didn't find the game ran too slowly--just a bit. I can live with that, although I have to wonder what they did to achieve a loss in speed on a 1.2 Athalon. That must really take some effort.
