OK these two quote boxes contain what I think should be the rules.
Rules & Regulations of
The Blades of the Banshee
Main Rules:
1. The guild is designed with adventure and camaradery together. On no account must
Player Killing (PK'ing) occur, duels for training purposes are allowed.
2. If for any reason you have a grievance with another member, you must contact your
Wing Leader who will bring this up before the Council. Evidence is required
(Screenshots of the offence) on which action will be taken, more on punishments later.
3. You are allowed to adventure with anyone, any alignment or class. A certain amount of
roleplaying is of course going to happen, a thief who pickpockets everything in site should
be careful of a reprimanding Paladin! Killing a character for this is not allowed, either
a peaceful discussion or do not adventure with the character again!
4.The sharing of treasure is to be done as such. We request that any money or treasure of no
use to you is given to the guild. If a Paladin for example finds a Holy Avenger, he may keep it,
after all it prudent that he should use it. A fighter would not need a magical staff for example and it
could be used by a Mage. A gift to the guild, monetary or items, will give you noteriatery and will make
you known to the Wing Leaders....
Basically I don't want to go into too much detail. It should be obvious to people that basic rules
should be followed.
Punishments & Rewards:
There are 3 types punishments.
1. The first is just something to let you know.
2. The second places a ban for two weeks of adventuring with the guild and your character.
3. The third is more serious, a ban for two months will be placed.
If one more reprimand is needed a permenant ban will be placed on you. If it is extreme a bounty will be placed
and guild members will attack on site.
Warnings are given as thus,
Constant insults in a none-roleplaying manner gets you the first punishment.
Theft of guild equipment is number 2.
Player Killing is the third.
Further playing killing will result in banning permenately, I hope it does not come to this.
Any other kind of violation will have the punishment decided later.
Voting System
There are to be four ranks in each wing, they are, in hierachial order. The number in parentheses is the number of members.
Fighters: Warlord (1)
Council of War (3)
Council Guards (10)
Fighters (Unlimited)
Rogues: Shadowmaster (1)
Council of Shadows (3)
Master Thiefs (10)
Thiefs (Unlimted)
Mages: Archmage (1)
Council of Magic (3)
Council mages (10)
Magi (Unlimited)
Nature: Natures Protector (1)
Council of Nature (3)
Natures Avengers (10)
Natures Guards (Unlimited)
Divine: Chosen Paladin/Cleric (1)
The Holy Council (3)
Holy Warriors (10)
Holy Guards (Unlimited)
To be promoted in rank there must be an opening to be promoted to.
The 3 lower ranks will be reviewed every month. It is requested that the maximum term of office for the two middle ranks is
2 months. After the time has passed a new person will be promoted in. If a member is found to be derelict of duty s/he will be
demoted and a new vote will occur. This can happen at any time.
Each Wing Leader will holds it's position for 3 months. If no one wishes to take over the previous may stay in. Only someone from
one rank lower may become a wing leader.
@Nippy: I still think there should be some sort of test to see if the person who wants to be Wing leader is worthy of it. I guess thats just something we'll discuss later...
@ Aegis at the moment I think that is a little unrealistic. It would involve creating new modules and also I among others probably won't be able to get the game at the same time as you due to my location (UK).
i'll be having a hard time meeting with the members cuz also of my location(Korea) and the time zone.
@nippy: what if the member refuses to "ban" and keeps on playing his character? what are the further consequences?
@aegis: we dont need to have a test. the 2nd in command will be probably be as good as you IF you choose the right people but i believe your choices will be the best decisions
@nippy: what if the member refuses to "ban" and keeps on playing his character? what are the further consequences?
</STRONG>
I think that they should be killed on site or everyone agrees to keep their character on a central server where we can delete them. Either that or we disown said character and attack him anyway.
I for one think just about everything you have there is sounding pretty good. I think for the most part we should all view this as a vehicle for us to all have fun and there really shouldn't be any of the petty bickerings that could bring about any kind of punishments. Obviously PK'ing will be dealt with as needed.
How will we deal with shared wealth and all that? Since we are still months away from the realease, does anyone know if the game will allow us to have shared coffers for the guild??? Or are we basically going to give items, cash, etc to wing leaders with them distributing said items, cash, etc... to the lower ranks as needed? I agree that a mage has no need for a 2 handed sword, so that should go to the fighters guild, but how are we going to effect that transaction is what I am driving at.
"Think on this, arrogant mageling: even the mightiest archmage has no spells strong enough to let him cheat death. Some take the road of lichdom... a living death. The rest of us find graves, and our dust is no grander than that of the next man. So when next you lord it over some farmer with your fireballs, remember: we all master spells enough to die"
Ithil Sprandorn, Lord Mage of Saskar, said to prisoner wizard Thorstel
OK this is the deal. As a rule all treasure that you are unable to use or are non-proficient will be given to the guild. Scrolls will go to a library locked in a room with a key for Archmage. The armoury keys go to everyone. Argyle (see Blades of the Banshee come hither) allows a guild coffer, buildings and rooms. That I believe is what should be done.
I apologise for sounding so harsh with the rules it's just that I want this guild to work and I believed that the only way to do it was to put it down a little harshly.
This is the thing, we would need to play in Argyle before we could start up a guild, we need capital (involves adventuring to gather required funds) to build our guild house, so we would have to wait until we could afford, which is realistic. The more elaborate the building, the more expensive. Check out the thread BotB Come Hither.
Do people think that I am being to dictatorial? I apologise if so...
we could either start meeting in a tavern (good for those drunk dwarves ) or kick some bears out of a cave and get our own batcave till we can afford a small building thingy and then move on to a keep.

why dont we do a tithing system? like every week out of every month (gives ppl time to get online if they cant at a certain day) club members donate a fixed amount to the clan. as far as equipment... wut if a guy likes his new big bad sword but the guy's a mage? i dont really like the idea of sharing weapons. how will u share? ppl cud just come into the clan and then leave AFTER they've taken a Holy Avenger, Balduran Helm, and a couple scrolls... trading system? see? it gets complicated... we mite need fricking accountants if u go into the trading system. i mean, if a guy has a kick ass sword but no money for the tithing, he cna just sell the sword and pay his dues. all the while the clan is generating more and more revenue for the glorious guild hall. i got dibs on a tower room!

Hmm... Monthyl in game fee... I like that... It's kind've cool.... About the equip. thing, how about this.
In our Guild hall, there will be one room. In that room will be all the magical equipment that is found. All members are required to place any magical equip they find, and won't/can't/don't use in there. To ensure people do not steal from it, Only the council of five will have a key a to the room.

ummm... i dont know about u guys but i kinda like to horde wut i findl, dont u? wud u really wanna give up the newest baddest dagger u just got from defeating this huge meanie?? i guess i'm against the idea of the clan putting all their stuff together.. i rather like teh idea of a clan market tho, where it's only the members can go and we just trade amongst ourselves and if anything comes up we'll take a screen shot and send it off to a high council dude. wadday dink?

Well, as far as the biggest baddest dagger goes, i'll leave that on the stinking corpse. I detest blades of any sort, and wouldn't handle a dagger for the life of me. And i also frown upon the idea of giving up all my posessions that i've worked for right and proper. If one o' my mates is in need, then i might just decide to make a gift out of something i've got, but handing over all my items of value to the guild coffers just doesn't sit right with my bowels. I would very much be willing to barter and trade one item for another, however.
Totino's party pizzas rock! All a college kid needs to get by....
Good idea, but wouldn't you need someone dedicated to watch over the equipment? If we stray to far and come up with something complex, it would really discourage people from playing.
In other words, we need somthing simple, a shop is better IMO then some large marketplace.
