Trouble with Valgyar SPOILER

Hi.
Great forum, I'm new.
I'm having som trouble, just started chapter 3 and thought I'd kill some time till night fall when I'm supposed to go on ther first quest for Aren Linvail.
In chapter 2 I went on the quest for the cowled wizar T... Something, I went to Umar Hills to find Valgyar. I didn't have room for him in the party at the time so I just let him go. He told me that if I required his services I could contact him through his servants in The Docks district. I went to The government district again and told T I couldn't perform his task. Trouble is that now some time has passed and when I go to see Valgyar he attacks me leaving me no choice but to kill him. I'm of good alignment and don't wish to kill him.

Anything he mentions when he attacks you? I did about the same with Valygar and afterwards picking him up, but no problems.

No I just go upstairs and he starts attacking

Try talking to his servant, he will get Valygar for you, if everything is ok.

Where is his servant?

right on the first floor. He might only be present during daylight hours though.
