i am so badly stuck in the 3rd battle with Melissan. i already posted one message of this but no-one answered with an actual strategy . i have knocked melissan out twice now and CANNOT after 10 zillion tries, beat her again. her strat (if u last long enough);
1. summon 4 slayer shadows
2. teleport away
3. cast prot. magic
4. time stop {
5. more summons
6. phisical attack (h2h or ranged) on PC (dead)}
if you post who is in your party with their levels and a vague description of their equipment then you should get a better response.
I have heard (though never done) that the easiest way to kill her is to lay traps (she has no immunity) so if you have thief that should do the trick.
However unless you have a wish spell/scroll it may be very difficult for you to finish since the final pool battle is hard.
However you should have a save game just before meeting her that would allow you to do it all over again once you know what tactics to do.
Unless you have been tipped off IMO it is very hard to do melissan first time. I didn't (I unloaded every spell I had at her straight off with a mage heavy party - she was toast but I had no chance from then on).

Ok. I'm going to lay a fairly detailed strategy, because I went through the battle with practically the same party ('cept a berserker where you have an avenger).
There are 2 ways. Cheese way and notsocheese way.
Cheese way, just put 4 spike traps under her. She will die immediately. =/
For pseudo-cheese, put 3 traps under her, so you can claim you didn't kill her with all traps! =)
For no cheese: Have your bard sing, and have some death spells prepared (I think those work on the shadows, da?). Before, have your cleric cast regeneration on your kensai. Whirlwind. There are very few things that can stand up to a whirlwinding Kensai.
DO NOT TIMESTOP with your sorceror. Mellisan is immune to it, and will rape your fighters. Just improved alacrity and abuse the pause key. If you have spell triggers, load a breach/lower resistance/lower resistance into it. Then some love from Abi Dhalzim's...
If you can, I'd have the druid sneak in there and do nature's beauty. Wonderful spell. With that and the bard song, you'll have +8 to hit, and the enemies will have -8, which'll help your fighters stay alive a lot.
Summoned stuff helps too, but I never like summoning things.
Finding that you don't have enough abilities left to do this?
Drink some potions of wisdom...
