same problem

I have the same problem. Everything was going fine, I'd passed 7-8 statues, no problem, and then, I open the door, two spectres or such and a Dwarven statue. As soon as I attacked the spectres, the statue just stomped me! AND I couldn't target it with weapons. When I fired magic at it, it took damage, but its rings never went down.

Anyone?

Each room in this area has one or two statue protectors. if you take the item from the sarcophagus and don't give anything back you will be attacked by the dwarven statues that guard the room but not from all of them. Don't take anything unless you've already found the item that you need to offer. Try to collect all the common weapons before you take anything and start from the last room backwards until you get everything.

Figured it out

I was having the same problem as you. I re-loaded and instead of taking ANYTHING, I offered the required item and kept moving. All was fine until this one section (second from last I think) where you walk into a room and another two Wraiths or Spectres on the OTHER side of the door attack you. DO NOT ATTACK them when you are in the room with the Statue. I waited for them to come to me, in the first room (It was tough, waiting to turn them!), but that's how I got through it.

Hope this helps.....

As I've said before, this is a known bug, and is usually initiated when one either attacks the spectres by either turning, or with magic. Somehow, the golems get 'activated', which shouldn't occur, and then cannot be defeated, forcing you to reload. To get around this, wait for the spectres to come to you. Do not use magic, do not turn. After the battle, save immediately. Sometimes, the spectres get 'stuck' in the doors, and that also activates the golems. In this case, reload.
