I've been playing PoR since it came out... basically experimenting with different classes. And I've found my solo character is the most fun. I used to play BG but I have a problem with not finishing games. BG was by far my fav game. And my fav class was Bard. I wanna try a solo game, but would it be worth trying it with a Bard? Here's what I'd wanna do. Wear the best armor and stuff to start out until I got some good robes, jewelry, and bracers. And then I'd go armorless, and be a Mage weilding a pretty decent weapon.

Others may have had a different experience, but I have just started a game with a bard, and she can't wear mage robes....
Also......the best armour a bard can wear is chain mail.....

Drizzt's Chain Mail does disable mage spell-casting. You can play your bard one of two ways:
Take advantage of all the wands in the game, but careful with the Wand of Frost - it destroys loot. Pickpocket Algernon's Cloak and use it to "recruit" help.
The Nashkel Mines shouldn't be too difficult, until you reach Mulahey himself. Use summons to spring traps you can't circumvent. Before you go into the Cloakwood, buy a scroll of Protection from Poison. It will save you a lot of grief.
- Equip him with good chainmail, but be prepared to doff it in order to cast spells.
- Equip him with bracers and a ring of protection.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I finally got my game in motion after grabbing Algernon's Cloak. I'd be dea without it. I'm ready to go to Nashkel now, but the only guy I can't kill in Beregost is the Fighter in Red Sheaf Inn. Silke was damn hard. I used the cloak to charm her and garret and had him attack her, and after she'd killed him I went in to finish her. The guy in Red Sheaf can't be charmed, and there's no one around that can last long enough with him. I guess I'll just come back.
