What opportunities for evil are there in SOA/TOB?

Post by Sargoon »

Inspired by the other thread on being evil, what evil actions & quest solutions are there in the game?

I myself have never really played evil and i can only recall the following:

-Siding with bodhi and her vampires

-Agreeing to poisoning the grove instead of taking it over (stupid, it pays A LOT in gold & xp to do it the good way)

- Slaying adalon to get blood to make the evil armor.

- Slaying solafein instead of conspiring with him in ust natha

- Giving the drow matron the real dragon eggs

Not free the slaves in CC but instead tell about their attempt to escape. Have never done this myself so I'm unsure of how it plays out.

I was playing true neutral, but had a reputation of 8 at the time, and instead of being sent to steal the Talos prestess´ necklace I was ordered to steal a statue from the Lathander temple. It plays the same, but is harder than the necklace to steal with no one noticing.

1)In Trademeet you can side with one of the two rival families (give them instead of the major the item you retrieve from the tomb).
2) There are two different way you can handle the rivalry between king and prince in the Sahuagin city.
3) In Windspear hills you can agree with the mage servant of Firkragg to kill the boy instead of killing him. I've seen the option but I don't know what will come out (don't do it if you're a paladin!!).

You can ...

... kill the Svirfneblin in UD
... take the evil (not only chaotic IMHO) option in Anomen's quest
... point the drow patrol in the right direction in UD
... make lotsa of evil decisions in the stronghold quests
... end many many dialogues with the "Fine, and now I'll kill you" option
... of course choose the evil option in the tests in hell (the fear protection cloak fits well with the human flesh armor)

You can offer to steal the deed for the Windspear Hills for Firekraag.

Dialogue options

Generally choose the dialogue options which are the nastiest if your into 'role playing'. You don't get to do a whole host of stuff BUT you are actually being your alignment.

For instance in the Nalia's Keep you can say to the servant "Start walking and see how far you get" costs you 2(IIRC) rep points.

I recently discovered that if you get the dead Halfling boy's(Wellum?) bear and bring it back to the cemetery you can then tease him with it and he turns into a revenant! Which you kill for 3000 exps.

So there is pleanty of scope for evil this way but you have to pay the price. - Curdis !

Here's a screamer for the Chap: 6 in SoA:

KILL ALL OF ATHKATLA :D

I did it... you'll have to deal with ALOT of CW's and Paladins of the diminishing heart (i like to call them this because i have a profound hatred for goody-goody paladins...)

*** Possible Spoiler ***

Oh BTW
instead of doing the Deep Gnome's quest (killing the baalor) just kill him and loot the gem from his corpse... kill Keldorn when he's guarding the entrance to the unseeing eye...
GOD! Did i love tearing his soul from his body!

At the slaver guild in Athkatla release the children slaves and give them a magic missile in their backs as they turn and run to the freedom they will never have MEHUHHAHAHAHAAHA!!!

Cant think of anything else ATM...
,,What are you planning, Shalifi? If you choose to turn your back on the world and everything within it there is only one thing left!"

,,Yes, apprentice, you are right."

,,But it's madness, Shalifi!"

,,It's possible! It is only you who cannot grasp the idea of becomming a divine presence, Fool!"

you can try to kill as many people as you can, although that's not a quest...

no, the siding with the king is not the evil thing to do in the underwater city, it's all about killing every single person in the entire place. You have no idea how much fun it is. The best evil thing i've done is when your in the elves encampment to tell lies, it's the greatest.

You don't see the merits of tortureing the poor soul with his fuzzy wuzzy? Of filling the spirit with a false promise, a broken hope of attaining eternal rest, then jerking it away from him?

hmmmm, perhaps your vileness is not as great as I had believed. :p :D

well, my character is chaotic evil. i delight in random acts of killing and destruction. i do not care for systematic killing and torture, only random aggresion. It would take a character of much higher intelligence than mine to see that more pain could be caused by letting the boy live for a few more minutes.

[rant]EVIL is NOT about being a psycho killer. Sheesh, once something/someone is dead it is all over apart from covering yourself in their insides (or animating their corpse). So what?

The much touted 'fault' in the evil genius plan (keeping the arch nemisis alive to gloat over) is built in you can't win UNLESS someone LOSES. Killing them quick is the merciful GOOD way. Having them under your power or control is what it is all about. Have you people no imagination?

The people who wrote the game did, hence the Wellum(sp) teddy bear tease option. I'm going to romance Aerie all the way through SOA just so I can say "Take a hike mommie" in TOB, killing her when I first meet her is not nearly as evil[/rant] - Curdis !

@Aragon Returns (Woosie Goodie Goodie name) So who needs to work on their EVIL ways now? hmmm, I give private tuition if you really want to work on your twisted, fiendish, and demented chops. As for 'kill everyone on the map' DUH. Like nobody had thought of that before.... - Curdis !

wow, settle down there cowboy. sorry if my evil ways don't hold up to your standards. and about my name, it was originally Aragorn of OC, but i had some computer problems and had to reformat but i got a new computer anyway and a new email address because Cox Cable switched and i realized that Aragorn of OC was a pretty lame name anyway so i decided to switch, also its kinda got the double meaning thing because i didn't post anything for several months but i have now made my triamphunt return. also you know the return of the king whole thing in the book. mostly i did aragorn because when i first played bg i used that as my name, i figured i'd just keep it.
