well....seeing as loads of you put debating (or debting, deabteing, debateing, debtaeing, bearbating and similar) in yourinterests in Anatomy (above), I thought I'd become ring master of my own frenzied circus for a while.
how about this:
IF GOD EXISTS, WHY SHOULD WE WORSHIP HIM?
Love and Hope and Sex and Dreams are Still Surviving on the Street
I think worship is a too big word, if He exicts I think He represents that what is good. He is a listening ear when your feeling down. He sets the right example for us.
Some feel the need to go to church, some just try to be a good person.
IMO, if He exicts I don't think He really cares if we pray, He just wants us to be a good person. (though he enjoys a conversation now and then )
We should worship him for what he stands for. Wheter he is tangile, or fictious, God(s) represent all that is good and wholesome. God is the belief that there is something beyond death, and that gives people hope. It is an ancher, per say, and keeps people who have experianced some sort of tragedy grounded. god can provide someone with a stregnth, wheter that strength is real or not, it is sometimes enough to help someone pull through illness and tragedy. God is something that religious people put faith into, and trust in to guide them. God, is in all respects, everyone's hope.

Good question!
Because that's what human beings were created to do.

God did not need to create man. God needs nothing from man, not even his worship. He loves us, but he does not need us.
Man needs something to worship. This is probably the most significant difference between men and animals - man possesses the desire to worship and revere something greater than himself. Animals do not. The existence of temples, shrines, monuments etc. ancient and modern, monotheistic or polytheistic, in almost every country in the world, testifies to this yearning of the soul.
