Deck of many things

Post by Littiz »

I read once that you could pickpocket it!
But in my game it says that the Cambion has no valid items!!!!
I really want the Deck, but killing that guy seems unfair...
Any clue???

If you beat the cambion when you play for the gem (using the deck), he fights you anyway.

Unfortunately, no. Neither the scimitar nor the scroll appears among the loot. Sorry.

Could you play for the scemitar, win, and then attack him?
Would you then still get the deck?

Yes, though what I usually do is play for the scimitar then play, and win, the gem, and fight.

Yes, you can play him both for the Scimitar and the Wish Scroll and stil fight him for the Deck of Many Things afterwards

In my oppinion, it's only evil when you lose a reputation point (or two)

IIRC Cambions are demons and, of course, demons are evil. As well, if you beat him in cards for the gem, he initiates combat.

I see your point, Stilgar, but I'm not Good, I'm SUPER-Good!
:D :D :D
If you are supergood, you may go for a theft maybe, but you don't
want blood be spilled (when you can do otherwise)
You try to spare the life of your enemy, as life is the most
precious thing....
Often I just stun weak enemies and just pass by.
They'll know their lives have been spared by the child of Bhaal!
An evil being can be redeemed after all, just take Sarevok!

This comes with a price, though...
I'll never get those nice cards... :(
I also lose the Answerer all the times, in order to avoid sad
deaths!!!
Really, I have to play a simply good char, sometime, just
to try a few items...

So if you spare all life that dousn't have to be killed,
that'll mean no red dragon scale, no ring of gaxx and a lot of other good items!

Makes the game rather hard!, could be intresting

Roleplaying extreme (good characters anyway)- don't kill anything :) (unless you really have to)

I once read somewhere that someone managed to play through DeusEx without killing anyone except one of the bosses. Wonder if it'd be possible in BG2? You'd need to stock up on hold person spells, keep a fully charged wand of paralysis etc.
