There should be a "show-off monster" like a gold dragon or something that was so tuff and intelligent (more intellegen than to be killed by 5 shots of cloudkill) that only few would be able to kill him. If I said I killed a dragon how many wouldn't response with "so what wuzz"? (you do not have to answer ) but if you killed this on it should really be something to brag about and a good story at familie-parties.
This weeks health tips:
Don't eat sharp objects it can be the cause of 7 out of 10 bad stomages.

I agree with Drakron about his opinion in leveling up.
Character leveling should be something like this: I disfavor the XP cap, but as you level up, it gradually becomes slower and slower to reach another level. Think Elminster, one of the greatest wizards of the Realms he reached that status because 1) he is Chosen of Mystra 2) he lived longer than anyone else therefore he has time to master the magical Arts. Also gaining experience should be emphasized more on the story itself: making wise decisions, help other people, etc., than combat.
I wonder how NWN would handle these problems of character development and being too powerful...I certainly don't expect to go online and find everyone is a 20th lvl warriors, monks and wizards running around.

oh well, guys, you probably would hate the news i am going to bring you then, the official ex. cap for BG2 expansion is lvl40, means they would be dmi-god(well against those monster in normal BG2, don't know about new monster than).
is BG2 ends with lvl40, do u still like BG3?without creating new characters? i don't think so, anyway, the cover "continue the compelling saga of Baldur's gate 2 to it's ultimate conclusion as you fullfill your destiny of the child of Bhaal", is that mean BG3 would be very unlikely?? means ascensions?
and then it says, it's at Watcher's keep yeah it would be a bloody long expansion i think. max level is 40, well always can remove the cap, well means you can earn millions of ex? it's got to be a bloody long game

They must be joking, AD&D rules only let Characters get to lv 30, level 40 rules are used for god avatars and similar beings.
I am not seeing WOSC letting something like that pass (besides to get to those insane level you would need to play the non-ad on BG II about 10 times, unless BioWare is going to put the entire Sword Cost in the expaction)

Yes, I have read it, funny thing neiter BioWare site is talking about it and I will have to see the XP for a 40 lv Characters, I belive that since Bards/Thives get to be at Lv 23 in BG II that lv 40 is the top for thives/bards.Originally posted by mizuno:

Still, I think that is a joke, WOSC will never alowed the rules to be abused in that way.

You know, I have see the stats of greater power, not even they are 40 lv.
The ad looks legit, but 40 lv in a espaction pack!!!!.
No way, more likely 1 or 2 levels, also its very likely that it will be like TOSC and HoW ad on, fighting Irenicus sould be like kicking a cat at those levels (Irenicus is "only" lv 30).
Something looks wrong in all that, besides summer of 2001?, that fast?
No, I will wait until BioWare say something about it.
the Damn thing is not even official yet.

well in seriously thinking, "the conclusion to fullfill your destiny as child of Bhaal) well, i've been thinking this sentance. there is a chance that you won't die, but just you somehow get rip the evil part of your blood. well still ascension isn't it? i don't know why i keep thinking it would end like ascension. pls give me somemore idea thus i won't keep thinking that.

The picture you all saw about expansion was an add that ran in a gaming magazine. At this time it would be bioware that would release an expansion but they have not acknowledged that one is forthcoming. So who knows? I remember several adds in gaming magazines of games that never actually were released. One in particular was a pirate version of warcraft that never saw fruition.
