anyone want to PM with a couple of suggestions regarding the telepathic conversation between thantor and I. It's seems to be the logical place to start. I will open a conversation and then it would be good if others could add to it.

@Ned...I am waiting with great interest to see what happens.
@Tor....I sent my character back to the keep. I have no problem with what you are doing, but BS is intensly distrustful of anything that resmbles magic, so there is no way he would willingly go through the portal. he has............issues

@Nippy
This plotline is only a way to introduce my character
BTW: it is an etheral plane NOT Tyr's plane, and for now you all would be welcome where the portal takes you (in this quest we all must cooperate with oneanother)

Everyone feel free to write any dialogue from the greater being, and D'aroth which doesn't affect me, or my personallity!!

I am not always the most diplomatic person around, and I honestly do not intend to sound unwelcoming - but yours is not the first mysterious character to have joined the DF...but what you say here is true - co-operation is necessary, this includes communicating before you hijack a plot.Originally posted by Teroril

Exactly. And there was a plot - or at least I thought so once. The polite thing to do would be to have your char logically join a story, not have everyone else blindly join yours...unless more information is offered, and a fluent path taken...
I apologise for the rant, but the story seems - at least to me - to be digressing. Without sharing ideas, and following a loose line it will become fragmented, and difficult to follow. We are supposed to be a team - this is a general observation - yet we appear to be splintering and running off on tangents...
I don't know, are we writing for the pleasure of writing with each other? or for the need just to express ourselves as a group of egos? *sigh*
Parachute for sale, like new! Never opened!

I've only written this to intoduce my char. and right now it has nothing to do with the plot (D'aroth could have something to do with the SM, or not) right now it's up to us!!! (NOT me)

Well I agree with that, but he said it is a short plot and I wanted to get it done quickly.Originally posted by Yshania

The problem is Teroril, that you have come in when we are finishing off a LARGE storyline and have sort of changed everything. It would have been nice if you posted first that you were going to come into the thread.

Speaking of plots, I've finally decided to put off the cat-part of the story till after the Dusk ritual. It's not quite in character, but the storyline won't get so splittered.
We can then wrap up the cat-creature and the Shadow Master stories in one go, as, I think, Gwally already suggested.

Teroril: *sigh* Some months ago you attempted to join our story by having your character run up to a few of the other characters saying "I have a quest for you!" then falling unconscious. At that time, you had failed to read even a few of our posts, or else you would have realized that the characters you were talking to were, at that time, some 400 years in the past and firmly in the middle of a very relaxing sauna bath. The characters, staying in character, chose to step over your sleeping body, ignore your quest, then return to the present time, leaving you back then.
Since then, it seems you have still not learned any sensitivity to our storyline or writing style. You could take a lesson from any of the other new comers who have successfully contributed greatly to our story as it unfolds.
Again, *sigh*

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

I concur with Ysh......
To reiterate what I and others have stated previously....... new writers are welcome...but please respect the Df history.....we have poured our hearts and our souls into this story.........
This is not like a spam thread where you can just parachute in with a post and expect it to work.......

To make my intoduction go faster:
I have taken D'aroth to the etheral plane, where he will be questioned, if he has something to do with the shadow master, but D'aroth denies it all, so he will be held untill further notice.
In this short plot my char. will introduce himself as Teroril of silvermoon who has been chosen by tyr, and he will offer his services to the group, while the Shadow Master has his evil regin.
That is what I thought

Ter, I don't want you to think that we are getting on your back, it's just that maybe you should have read some of the story and possibly waited to change the storyline after we've finished the important battles. As is, maybe we can change things a little. Maybe the Celestial figure doesn't ask questions, it merely just traps the demon D'aroth and takes it away. We then get spoken to by it, saying that the battle will be watched by the Gods etc and that we should return now so that we can prepare for battle.Originally posted by Teroril

Remember, that a storyline shouldn't be rushed. Lets leave the demon/celestial thing for now, and then maybe later on we can change things a little. How does my idea sound? DO you think we can do that?

@gwal
Actually I have been writing in other stories such as this in a couple of years now, and I've experienced that it is VERY hard to get a new character written into a story, because there is always happening something impotant.
I know that my char. in this story was written in quite badly, but I think that I can compensate with that
BTW: it is easiest to write a character into a story when others battle some severe monsters (such as a demon)

I'd have to concur with Ysh although obviously my experience and time here is very short. I think with as many people contributing here now, things are bound to digress. That said, I chose to write in a character who has an easy out if things don't work out.
We brought up briefly how Thantor and Flanders appear 'engaged' in a telepahtic comminique of sorts. Still, I find it weird that the remainder of the group would simply trudge back to the keep and pay such an odd character no mind whatsoever once the battle was complete. It seems a little too trusting. Suppose Flanders is not so friendly. Would you simply allow him to psioinic blast thantor and move in for the kill.
Do I expect you to drop your plot line and cater to the introduction of a new character? No. But I thought demands on me from the others in the clearing prudent. It is your keep so it would make sense you would like to know how warranted my presence is and not leave it up to one person to explore.
Perhaps I'm missing something. I just feel a little snubbed which is ok because you point out you're at the culmination of a couple of major story lines. But if that is the case, you should point it out to newcomers and mention that joining is fine but you may want to follow the story for a bit and wait until these major developments are concluded before introducing your character.
btw, I brought some beer (speaking of prudent) and I really hadn't intended to send rod and todd back the house of pain..., I mean..., astral plane.

If you read some of my other posts in this thread, you will find out that this little episode isn't a plot, but a way to introduce my character.
BTW I think that when D'aroth is held captive, we would find out why he attacked the keep, but that can surely wait (it would take a LOT of time to question him!!!)
