@Nippy. Which team do you think wins the English premiership? I would hope that some other team than ManU, for a change, but on the other hand they play at least attacking game which is fun to watch (as opposed to, for example, Liverpool's horrible direct counter-attacking-style). I'm afraid we (Newcastle&Chelsea) have already dropped too far...

The problem is they are playing Villa, and Villa have a habit of handing the title to Man UOriginally posted by Nippy
Regrettably I have to agree, although I would prefer for any other team than Man U, I can't see Liverpool finding a way past or Arsenal. Saying that, the Gunners are playing some nice football and I would like to see them win...
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
Indeed, should be interesting, it is definately one of the more interesting title challenges for a while. How many people said Man U were out of it around Christmas time?Originally posted by Nippy
We can only wait and find out...

I hope Liverpool will make it this year which i doubt it since i'm a fun from my child years and i'm tired of waiting Liverpool to break loose once again (he did start last year though ).
Let's just hope Panathinaikos hits CL next year and with a little luck i might be able to visit Antfield just for once .

I'm afraid you are all kidding yourselves. It's ManU all the way this year. Although I have to agree with Mr Sleep that this is one of the more interesting years for Premiership Footie. It's so much more fun to watch when things are tight at the top!

Primera Division & Premier Ship are by far the best championships in europe and you get to see very good football, the italians have fall back in this the last few years . Anyway ManU might pull it through this year too.

Yeah, well IMO English & Spanish series aren't quite that good, I would say that the level of Serie A in general is still higher than the one of Premiership and the players are more skillful. But seeing few Italian serie A games this season, they play really boring football. Even more so than Liverpool (!!!!). So there's a reason I prefer wathing English football over Italian. And about Bundesliga, well, haven't seen those games in years so don't know much about that. But German team(s) have done quite well in eurocups so I guess their national series can't be that bad.Originally posted by Demis

@Nippy: Besides playing generally attractive football, Premiership has quite many international players, from Scandinavia, Middle and Southern Europe etc. and I'm sure that increases its popularity abroad too.

Yeah, well, among others, I did. Their defence seemed really weak, and the player's bought last summer with big money seemed illogical choices. Why buy another striker when they already had 3 world class ones? Why buy yet another attacking midfield when they really needed central defenders? I think not many would have believed then that ManU will lead the league during this season. I hope that ManU wouldn't again win it, but I think it willOriginally posted by Mr Sleep

This reminds me of a joke that originally was about Finnish ice-hockey, but it can easily be modified to suit this subject:
"What is the definition of football? It's men trying to put a ball to the goal with their heads and feet, and in the end ManUnited always wins."

Bundesliga is just Bundesliga, they are Germans and Germans tent to play essence football other that impessive football and i respect that . Thats why they get so well in the europian cups IMO.Originally posted by Moleman
