Is it to soon to recue Imoen?

Post by cobra mkII »

I played bgI and imported my character so:
Minsc lvl 12
Jaheira lvl 9 fighter lvl 12 druid
Jan lvl 11 Illusionist lvl 11 thief (to be replaced by Imoen eventually)
Me Lawful neut Mage lvl 12
Mazzy lvl 11 fighter
Valygar lvl 11 Stalker

Ch 3 has just started as I had the money to pay Gaelan (allthough I have only done a few city quests + Planar Sphere, De'Arnise Temple Ruins and Druid Grove.

Is this to soon to rescue Imoen on my current levels? Can I go back to ch. 1 & 2 quests later? Also with 3 fighters (Minsc, Jah. n Mazzy (+Valygar? )) what prof slots should I be using with future weapons in mind? The current team suits my playing style so I want to stick with my team

Sorry there are lots of questions but you have all helped loads in the past so thanks for your patience and help.

You do get to go back to the other chapter 2 quests.

My current party (my fifth) has taken on the Underdark quests with only a few of the chapter 2 quests under its belt. It's more of a challenge (and I've always used the hard setting.) I prefer it that way. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Saving Imoen shouldn't be too difficult. Spellhold isn't much of a chhallenge. The Underdark isn't that easy, but you'll quickly xp there and there is plenty of good equipment around (esp. Drow armor and weaopns).

The later you leave Imoen the easier the game is, but the less useful she becomes.

Your party should be able to handle itself in an Imoen rescue at those levels, just make sure you have the equipment you want before heading out.

The only time I had Imoen in my party (am a big fan of Jan so...), I did far less quest than that before leaving. In short: Pack your bags and go!

Try to spread the profiencies as much as possible. That way, there will be good weapons for everybody.

if you have tob installed, immie is more usefull as a really good backup spell caster if you hit watchers keep after underdark.

sigh,

I am running me, sorc, jan, aerie and jaheira, picking up korgan just befoer I leave, so I am not in a lack for spell power. this is close to the all mage party so often discussed in soa.

but immie is too loyal and sweet for me to trade her in, tho I have felt that I should get her to a safe location and let her sit out the really nasty stuff coming up.

however, immie cheats... when ever we get into arguments about it being too dangerous, she goes and tickles me and pinns me down and starts going off on how I have to protect her from the cruel cruel world and how she is my responsibility since gorion died...

aerie gets a little jelous cause she can only pin me down with str belt on, whereas immie knows exactly where I am ticklish...

oh, oh!! immie and aerie are talking about me!! this is at night, so they think I am asleep, but I over heard immie telling aerie all about what a wild child I was in candle keep, and how I would sneak out at night and have all sorts of adventures with local barmaids...

aerie is blushing again! so cute...
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

Stuff I always get for specific Underdark purposes:
  • Shield of Balduran (you know why :D )
  • A +4 weapon (Improved Mace of Disruption will do)
  • Shield of Harmony
