Is this cheating?

Post by Stilgar »

I currently solo a fighter/thief through Baldur's gate 1 (just finished the cloackwood mines, and currently doing all the side area's)

But i was realy anoyed by the lack of inventory space cause 90% was used by arrows.

So I used gatekeeper to stack my arrows to bunch of 100.

Is this cheating? Or just ajusting the rules?

Isn´t it possible to somehow hack the bag of holding in BG1.
I´m not the scripting type, but if it´s possible to create whole new items, why can´t the bag of holding be scripted as well???

I saw a downloadable bag of holding at the Arundor's Abode site. You can also make your own items with an editor, if your into that kind of thing.

it's not cheating, some ppl may consider it cheese but IMO it just makes the game more pleasant to play, seriously, who'd run half across the map every day just to get some arrows? i don't mean in the game but sort of like IRL?

i always had atleast one member carrying arrows, and other carrying stones so that i wouldn't ran out so quickly... but since you're soloing i don't think stacking them in 100 is cheating or even cheese, but if you put them in 100's to the quiver that's kind of cheating...

2bad, a bag of holding would be the greatest add-on for soloing there is.
I would even give up the boots of speed for that item!!!

A Bag of Holding would be so useful even if you weren't soloing!
the stacking to 100 is a bit cheesy but you can loot things in 60+ sometimes so if the NPCs can do it why not you?

Its a bit of both actually. Bending the rules. Maybe the interplay guys only wanted to make the game a bit realistic. Carrying a billion arrows. Bah!

Could be the point.
Or they just had to pick an amount and picked 20, they changed it to 40 in BG2, but I hardly use archers there
