Viconia's ring (spoiler?)

Post by fallenheart »

Ok.. my Viconia has been happily wearing her Holy symbol of Talos for sometime...so.. What happens to the ring when she changes her alignment? (yeh, I'm romancing her) Does she get a new ring? If not, she just looses use of that wonderful ring? If that's the case, that sounds very unfair.. :(

Not sure, since I've never played through this type of scenario. I believe it depends on what the game does when her alignment changes. If it remains equipped, there's no reason why she shouldn't continue using it, so long as you don't unequip it. If the game forcibly moves it to her inventory, then I recommend you cheat in the ring appropriate to her alignment. They all do the same thing, anyway. The item codes are:

BELT12 - Holy Symbol of Lathander
BELT13 - Holy Symbol of Helm
BELT14 - Holy Symbol of Talos

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

My Viconia's alignment changed about half an hour ago. Unfortunately she does not get a new ring. Her old ring stays on the slot, but it is reded out (You still get the bonus). Once you take it off, that's the end of the ring. If you ask me, I say it's really unfair. :( I just gave her new ring with CLUA, but that doesn't feel right...

I'm not sure if this was something the programmers overlooked or not. IMO, since the clerics don't receive rings specific to their deities and receive them as a reward for reaching level 25 as a cleric, Viconia should have received a new ring when her alignment changed.
