Have you seen the mini-series? It's very good, the weird thing is that the sepcial effect in the (much older) movie are better, but the mini-series describes the story better!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
My thoughts exactly. I guess they had less money for special effects (it kinda reminded me of "Xena" or Hercules when they did combat scenes. Worms looked better though. The story *was* explained better too.
The movie is under-rated. I rather like it but can see why it failed at the Box Office.

Someone at IMDB said "So Much To Love in a Film So Bad" I think that describes it very well.Originally posted by Gruntboy

The Dune story is way to complex to be filmed in 1,5hour.
There is over 2hour cut out of the movie!

my thoughts entirely. the design and sets are beautiful, and it's a damn good sci-fi romp, but the storyline seems convoluted in the extreme due to its compression. still damn good though, i'll have to look into the miniseries thingy...

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The force is now with me! I propose a new contest, this one with still portraits only. Never you mind about moving images. They shouldn't have counted in the first place. For best avatar I vote... um, lesse... myself! I will force-push anyone into submission (or Jedi mind trick into agreeing) him who dares claim otherwise.
