changing the big metal unit?
Hey guys,
Just got the big metal unit and it appears... you can't walk through doors. Which kinda sucks cause thats a useful thing to do lol. So instead of switching armor all the time, i thought hmmmmm... why don't i just use shadowkeeper to change my form to something that looks just as cool and gives off the same impression... something like... Sarevok. Well I can't help but feel that might be considered cheating... ONLY because maybe that is a hindrance of the suit that must be lived with... so what do you guys think? Is it fair to change from an iron golem to sarevok look wise?

Why blow up the world with all the nukes when you can end it with one single bullet...
Whatever you feel comfortable with, its a game after all. I wouldn't do it though to be honest. I do think that the clunky size of the thing was intended as a tradeoff for the uber-ac.
On the other hand my response is just not to use the thing. If you really want to use it, then maybe make a sort of compromise, edit the thing but dont wear it in places that the size would really make it impossible to use rather than just annoying.

BIG METAL SUIT
I actually cheated to get this, BUT, I used the armor for a while, but found that it was too much to change everytime you want to go into a building, or through a door.
What I did was make someone else in the party the lead character, that way everyone else in the party, inccluding the BMS, gets loaded into the building.
It also gets in the way when fighting because you can't really move around things. I had a hard time getting other characters to go around the character....so I ended up using another piece of armor I found and ditching the BMS.
If this helps at al.....

"They tried to quiet him, but after he stuck his tounge out, they all died"
Similarly to what Pogo said (assuming I understood correctly), I just put whoever has BMU on behind everyone else while going through a doorway/etc. This is the same trick I use to get a thief hiding-in-shadows through a door or up stairs without getting out of hiding. Of course, you need at least one other party member to do this... I don't think it should be edited
it's a cute egg, and it has to be balanced someway, after all.
Slightly off topic...
I tried to change the appearence of my Inquisitor to Sarevok`s (!) but it crashed the game every time. I remember reading elsewhere that it is a known issue. I settled for the Demon Knight`s, which is just as cool

"No one expects the Brazilian Inquisitor!"
Abazigal: "Oh my god! They killed Yaga-Shura!"
Sendai: "You bastards!"

But they were brothers after all, they COULD have some common traits...
Just remembered, I tried it before I installed Ascension. Since Sarevok appears in his old self at the final battle, maybe the avatar is not bugged anymore... must try it again soon

oops forgot to check the forum for a while
anyways yeah i saw the first 2 posts and decided it would be better to play the way it was meant to be played. It is also good to know about the Sarevok thing too cause i was considering that. And as to GNGSpam's arrogant comment... yes i did get them all the way from BG1. If I cheated to get them you think I would ask a morality question about changing it? Thanks everyone except GNGSpam. Bye.

But the BMU is to powerfull for the game, but just fun to get once.
(I did it once myself)
But it's so powerfull you shouldn't see it as a real item, just as a funny part of the game!!!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Indeed. After all, who in their right mind would be caught dead without the bronze pantalettes?
I didn't play through BG1, so unfortunately I couldn't have the BMU made. However, the entire scene where you acquire the pantalettes was entertaining enough for me!

getting the silver ones was a big suprise to me to (and that's also where (a very small) light went on with me about a possible pantaloon enigma!
