What does telekinesis do? I bought one from a mage at one of the guilds and it has a "Self" range and could not transport anything at all.

The self version is kinda silly, because it doesn't do anything. It serves only one function: it allows you to customize a version of the spell using the Spellmaker that's targeted.

Actually i thought of that but at the spellmaking interface, i could not change the range no matter how i try to click on the "self" button. i find this very strange.

Do you already have a spell that targets? If not, you need to buy one. You can only create spells using spells and spell effects that are already known to you.

I created a spell that was telekinesis 30 feet and also open 50 target and tried it to get the cool looking guard armor but it didn't work... What the heck combo do you use with the tele spell?

Have you tried to create two spells, the first, a targeted opening spell, and the second, a targeted telekenesis spell?

Tack you have the setup right. I don't understand the problem?? If you place yourself where you can not see the NPC then he can not see you. post, corner, chest..anything will work. NPC can be just otherside of a post but if you can't see him you can steal whatever you want. to open at a distance just cast your teley, immediately right click to halt time and choose your open spell, then target your pray and wham bam its open for you to teley steal. oh and the original poster, when you spellcraft you should be able to clik on where it says self to change it to touch or target also. I don't think it matters what the spell is you bought. I mean I know you can buy a touch fire spell and change it to target or self if you want, although I don't know why you would want to damage yourself :) I always buy the lowest cost form of the spells.
EDIT: ahhhh, as he said, you are spellcrafted targeted teley right? the open can be touch since it brings the target to you in a sense. or you can make a distance open also. either way will work.

What is really strange is i bought this telekinesis spell happily only to find out that it is "self" as i said earlier. I could not change the range properties on spell making unlike what Biljac claimed though.

it is self only :) some are. it gives YOU telekensis so you can manipulate items from a distance. notice that if you get across the room from say a chest, NPC or even a bed after you have cast this spell the name will pop up unlike before the cast. in other words you can now react with it till the duration runs out.

Join the crowd... I've asked now on 3 different forums and still I get no answer. I've tried to create the spell with a TON of 2nd spell combos with "target" thinking that may do the trick but still no dice. I've gotten frustrated and pretty much given it up.

I also can't get my sneak to advance PERIOD. I get the little sneak icon but no advances. I heard on a board that for every 3 minutes u're successfully sneaking you should advance a level but I can't even get 1% in the level I'm in. I thought maybe it was cause I had it as a major on my thief so I created another guy with 5 skill and still nothing.

PLEASE someone help me to solve this delima. Balmora is a town just waiting for a good thief to wipe them out :D
