Daedric shrines

Post by Odonatathrope »

I'm not too far into the game, and I've read a lot on this board about the Daedra quests and the great loot they can provide. It seems these quests are initiated by clicking on statues in Daedric shrines. Now, I've been inside a few (two or three) Daedric ruins labeled shrines (the one in the fayada en route to Ghostgate comes to mind). These 'shrines' are guarded by atronachs and Dremora lords and have big statues in 'em. Trouble is, I can't find any part of the statues to 'activate'. Are these the shrines that begin the Daedric quests, or are they just ruins?

CJ posted about this somewhere around here, but the gist of the info is that there are only a few (8?) that actually give you quests. You should see a "Shrine of X" ID when you are near a statue that can be activated. Click on said statue to activate the speech and the subsequent quest.

Thanks S_S. I was afraid the statue wouldn't talk to me 'cause I swiped the gold off his altar.

To complicate things, three of the quest shrines aren't in shrines. One is in a guildhall, one is in a major city and one is outside, but underwater.
