Morag Tong bounties

Post by Odonatathrope »

Okay, just did my first hit for Morag Tong. Kinda surprised to learn I couldn't avoid committing a crime (no taunt option, nothing). But hey, I have a writ for lawful execution right? Well, yeah, that kept the ordinator happy--then I noticed all my hard-earned (well, stolen) stuff was gone. I didn't become a master thief to be robbed blind as a Morag Tong noob. So reloaded, paid the thieves to get the bounty off my head. Question: is there any other way to avoid talking to guards (and losing all my hot wares), or is this faction gonna get expensive really fast?

Most of the time, you can make the kill while sneaking and get a one-hit kill... and thus not have your crime reported. I believe the very first 'test' mission doesn't let you get away with this, but for the most part the others do.

Additionally, once you reach the rank of thrall (or is it white thrall? one or the other) you can start doing 'special duties' instead of writs. There are more then enough special duties - including 10 sanguine items that aren't part of any quest, but each one you return adds to your faction rep - to get you to grandmaster without having to do another writ if you'd rather not.

sanguine items? I've found a belt and some shoes in my wanderings that are "sanguine ____ of somehting or other" -- are these the quest items? Maybe I better remember where I put 'em?

Yeah, track'em down. There are 27 of'em, and all are needed for the morag tong. Strictly speaking, you don't have to get and return them all. But if you do before becoming grandmaster, you get a nifty reward. And returning them does help you advance.

memphala skill allows you to finally produce items that fortify skills and attack!!!!

one of the best in game, period...

much better than that skeleton key thigie from thieves guild..

is temple and cult rewards cool...

i already know the legion reward of crysmere and lords mail...both sucky items, imho....

i actually got the lord's mail while doing getting the glove for ahnassi. made the mistake of talking to the guy that had it on, and he attacked. i'm guessing i've screwed myself out of doing legion quests? any other repercussions?

Nah, you haven't screwed yourself out of anything. You should be able to (eventually, it's the second to last legion quest) get the 'get lords mail' quest, then just talk to the quest giver again to get credit for it.

Nearly all the quests allow you to be proactive and do them before actually being told about them.

not always....

azura's star quest???

no daedra on the island if you visit before talking to the goddess...but an aweful lot of the quests can be done ahead of time, by going to dungeon and whacking the beastie or recovering the item and talk to quest giver....

generally any item retreival can be done ahead of time...

The first test mission can be completed without having someone report the assassination, but you either have to have a high sneak skill, heavy-duty Chameleon, or both.
