bug has me stuck

Ok, I finally got to the asylum after like 40 days or somethin (first time through). I do the whole tour thing on lvl 1, then Irenecus makes me fall asleep. Game loads to the room where he kills a bunch of shadow thieves. Another loading screen comes up, but my CD drive starts acting up and comp freezes. This is the only time my Cd drive has ever done this, and it has done it all of the 6 or so times I'v tried to go through this one part of the game. Is this a known bug or not? Either way, is there something I can do or download to fix it? I really don't wanna end up playing like 1/3 of this game over and over =(

I'm on my first time through too, but that didnt happen to me. I dont have any patches installed, but maybe I have a different version of the game. Hope it's not your CDROM.

This probably isn't it but if you are hidden or invisble in the scene where you experience your bug the game will not continue. Are you sure that is not what actually happens?
