I think this may be the appropriate medium in which to post this.
I have noticed, having read through some forums, threads, posts, and replies, that by-and-large people who play roleplaying games are (as a general rule not always true) very arrogant. They (we?) seem to condescend to , argue haughtily with, and behave somewhat self-rightgeously toward others.
I am just curious as to why this phenomenon exists and have a couple theories of my own. I would like to hear your thoughts on (1) whether you agree with this observation and (2) what causes to which you may attribute it. In response, as most people here play roleplaying games, I expect a lot of irritation. This is okay.
As an example, one guy may post a question. In response, among several helpful answers, he'll get various heckling and scolding remarks from people who seem to chide him for not knowing the answer to the question he asked. Interesting...
(And no, I'm not talking about me. I have yet to undergo this treatment.)

Will
