Aharunartus (Bandit Cave)

Post by Casketgarden »

Ok, I've cleaned this place out the best I know of and those cats still don't know they are free. Upon persuasion (took a while) one told me they would not leave without a key.

Where the hell is this key?

Thanks tons.

The key is on the corpse of the bandit nearest the stockade area. You have to use the key on each of the prisoners by talking to them and selecting "release them." Once they are free, you should be good to go. They won't move around or leave the stockade area, but you should be able to see a bracer on their right arms, it will disappear once you have released them.
Good things come to those that wait--but only what's left over from those that hustle.

Look around carefully. In most of the bandit caves I've encountered, the keys were even duplicated--typically, it was in one box or barrel, and again on a bandit's body. Sometimes it wasn't in a box, but sitting on top of it--so be sure to check all tops of containers, and nearby 'em, too.

Are there any rewards at all through the game for freeing slaves? I freed all three in Addamasartus and all of the slaves in the Caldera Mine too, nothing happened except in the latter case I got a messade in my journal saying "Ive freed [what's-her-name] and the mine should be down for a couple of days". Is this good, bad, or does it not change the game at all?

It makes sense only if you're Redoran, there's a task (and some problems if you've done it too early mentioned on the board). Other than that i don't know any profit, just roleplaying aspect.

Ilmeni Dren of House Hlalu has a number of abolitionist-related quests. If you play Hlalu or the imperial legion, odds are you'll encounter her sooner or later.

There aren't many abolitionist quests (plus a few slave related misc quests) and while there is an abolitionist faction -- the Twin Lamps -- it's not joinable. I'd like to see Bethesda mod that at some point.
