Creating Mods

Post by Malakian »

How do people create mods? Like what programs would they use to create those new monster images for the game and that? How could you put dialogue in? Guess you'd have to be pretty good with computers, something I'm not.

Solaufein NPC & Romance Mod Pack

Check the above link. WeiDU mentions all the engines he has used for creating the Sola mod and gives the links if one wishes to download them.

Read the Readme files if you wish to learn "how".

Hope it helps.

Cheers

There's no real start-to-finish, here's-how-you-make-mods guidebook for you to go through. However, there are a number of tools and tutorials.

Aubrey already pointed you to Westley Weimer's site, and I'd just like to say that yes, I heartily endorse learning to mod inside the WeiDU environment.

There are other sites with tutorials and people who can answer technical questions:

http://forums.forgottenwars.net
http://forums.fwstudios.net
http://www.teambg.net
http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi

Plus which, I at least have been known to answer what technical questions I can here...

NearInfinity and WeiDU are the only tools you need... unless you want to do some major editing of areas, in which case you'll probably need to visit TeamBG.

Avoid TeamBG tools if you can. Buggy, unstable, prone to wiping out hours of work. NearInfinity can do almost everything you want, and does it ten times better than any TeamBG tool.

WeiDU handles the rest.
