Post by SatanSongi »

I have windows XP and i downloaded some software for burning cds. Once i installed it both my cd writer and my cddrive mess up and dont work o_o i uninstalled it and i still get this in the device manager.

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

Ive tryed uninstalling and installing it but i get the same thing. This is NwN related I WANT TO PLAY NWN NOW O_O;;

Have you tried updating the drivers for your CD-RW and CD-ROM? What CD burning software did you install?

Yeah i did but it just said i didnt have any new ones. Should i uninstall the drivers then reinstall them? it was Easy Cd Creator 5 i think thats the name. And when it opened it said something about drivers cause my system to be unstable and it was going to disable them but i clicked not to but looks like it did anyways.

Windows XP comes with a system rollback feature for this very reason. You should be able to use that to restore your system to it's previous configuration.

Be careful to make sure the drivers are stated to work with XP. The software you mentioned had major problems working with XP. I haven't dealt with it for a while, and can't remember if 5 was the version that was XP compatanle or not. I do know they resolved the issue with the latest version though. Still, I switched to Nero anyway. :rolleyes: :)
