Has anyone found the "Index" to use with the old tansportation system in the ruins?

Sure, but you find them in all sorts of places. I have yet to find them all, though. I think I have found 4 or 5. If you want to know exactly where you find one look at the spoiler below

One index is found on the table of the Urshilaku Wise Woman's yurt. Its on a piece of paper, on the table right behind her.
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Indexes

Some of the indexes are easy to find if you know what you're looking for. The one Tybaltus reffered to for example. The problem with it is, from the portal that each index works at , you can only go to the two nearest portals. so if you imagine the portals being in a big circle, you would need to jump from one to the next and so on to get to the other side of the continent. Plus you would have to have the correct corresponding indexes. IMHO it is not worth the work to find all of the indexes to make the portal travel useful. Unless of course you are doing it for the accomplishment rather than the actual travel benefits.

P.S. I can tell you where they all are if you really want them that bad.

I really dont care if I knew where all of them were. I agree that they dont really serve much of a purpose.

There's an official mod from Bethesda that has someone make a master index of all the propylon chambers for you. This allows you to travel to any of them and the Caldera mages guild :D (of course you have to get all the indexes first)
