Solo Sorcerer question

Post by silencer »

I'm soloing with a solo sorcerer and have completed pretty much all of the Ch 2 quests including Fikraag and the Shade Dragon. I just killed the two Liches for Kangaax, brought him his body parts and took him out. But then, when he transforms into the demi-lich, I couldn't beat him. He wasn't killing me or anything. After the first time I cast Immunity:Abjuration and that kept his imprisonment off. I also have spell trap from the staff of the magi. My problem was that I couldn't hurt him. He immediately imprisoned everything that I summoned and none of my magic had any effect on him. Has anyone been in this same situation or has some idea about how to damage him? The only thing I could hit him with was my sling +5 and Staff but he regenerated faster than I could do damage even with boots of speed. Help appreciated

Try lower resistance (better multiple) and then some spells.....
But you must have the robe of vecna
Time stop can be useful if your lvl is high enough.....

Lower resistance is useless against the demi-lich cause he is immune to magic not resistant. You should get a scroll of melfs minute meteors if you can't cast it yourself.
Actually you probably need more than one scroll. Simulacrum is great too but I guess you are not that high level. There is a simulacrum scroll at bernard in c.c. I believe so you can buy that also.

Try using Tenser's Transformation and Haste. Both are from the alteration school so your spell Immunity won't interfere with them. Also, Ring of the Ram works. Try using Melf's Minute Meteors - you will need to cast this multiple times.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Mordekainen's swords get Imprisoned. For Kangaxx I recommend Mordekainen's Swords OR Fire Elementals and either way protect them with Protection from Magic Scrolls. Also, the Spell Trap from the Staff of the Magi shields you if he throws a couple your way and you can even use the recharge it gives when you're hit by Imprisons to recharge and cast more Simulacrums/Images (for the Scrolls) or Swords/Elementals.

The way to do this is to summon the the greatest and most powerful thing that you can......wizards eye! take the eye and place it AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the demi this way he will attack the eye (the eye is immune to....everything more or less only one thing can "hurt" him) and he won't change target unless something comes closer but you do not have to worry about that since you won't be in range of the demi-dude. summon eye, eye close to demi, demi casts imprisson on eye, eye immune, summon fire elements (the more the better, two will do) there attacks are concideret as +4 magical weapons so the do there normal damage. they have a little reach/range when they hit that is why the demi won't imprisson them. you can back them up with melf's minor meteors (small damage but that helps too)
this works 100% and there are no chances of your sorc. getting hit.

good luck!
