stoopid smilies

Post by Gruntboy »

What's your policy on lurid flashing neon gigantic smiley faces that take up half a page?

I'm not the most angelic poster but watch daft things like this don't begin to take over.

Since this topic is clearly against me I decided to post here. These "stupid" images are images which are allowed to be post be this site. I don't see why they should be banned (that's probably what you want), since they arn't flooding the msg board. Even if they are, it doesn't slow the page a lot. You probably also use images such as " Image Image Image Image Image Image " When you post a msg there is a link to a smilies legend on the left.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Was asking Buck's policy, not you. Just passing him a warning to make sure these don't flood the board. If you read your thread, plenty of people complained about it slowing down thier access.

I do use the smilies but only the standard ones. If you are lacking something in your life and feel like you need to make up for it with dumb smilies, fine. Image

The standard ones slow down the post just as much as the non-standered ones.

And about the thread I was just wandering if it there are these smilyes here.

Actually, animated ones take up a lot of space (not really, but it still slows) It would be best if there not used, no offense to you.

Tip: for very slow connections, some older browsers allow you to turn off graphics. These programs usually allow you to load graphics manually if you decide you do want to see them.

Netscape allows download of all previous revisions.

EDIT: goes without saying I am only talking about the intended smilies, I am against any other embedded graphics (and this often leads to spam; can you say Talon?)
