Item generation

I heard if u find certain magic items, such as dragon scales, adamantium etc, specific mages around the game can construct magic items. Where are these mages? I've completed the game now and never met one...

Actually mages can't really creat things for you. If you are a mage you can create certain items in different chapters. But as far as armor and such goes, there are forges that let you create special magic weapons and armor. Those forges are in chatpers 1 and 3.

they were not mages, as far as i saw, but smiths. there was one in neverwinter, at the shining knight i think, as well as one in beorunna's well in chapter three and they could construct several items from those special items you found throughout the game, usually for a fee of about 20000 gp's. they are usually weopon smiths near the owner of the store and, after a brief conversation, will tell you about the items they can make on their forge if you put the right items there upon it.

the guy in chapter 1 won't charge you 20000 as seraphim points out but he will be more then happy with a fee of 500 gold. There are also mage labs around that will allow you to create certain items by yourself, however you will have to have some skills with the arcane magic.

I think seraphim meant the 20000 was for forging in chapter 3
