No, of course she wasn't enjoying herself. She was in grief over her husband and friends. Why else do you think she comes to rely on you so strongly?
She overcomes her grief because of the love she feels for you (see non-romance ending), and when you take that away from her, you remove the last trace of joy and feeling from her heart. She loses her individuality and becomes her purpose. Her destruction at your hands is complete, and you can rejoice in your own magnificence.
