Besides, last I heard I was a scoundrel.

Ode'll think (as he's paranoid) that EVERYONE'S turned against him after this.
In this case it was just the usual suspects, I believe (ie. you and AC). And I never even got a hug.

I love the fact that Mah and I were trying to defend ourselves while you three just looked for scapegoats. Why am I not surprised that I became the conclusive scapegoat?

The trick is to blame someone who a), isn't there at the time, or b), is inexerienced at being blamed for things. In my case I failed to fulfil either of these criteria.Originally posted by Tybaltus

If you're really stuck for ideas, though, blame Fas. It almost always works.

How're you doing this fine morning? (Hmm probably evening for you then) I'm (as ever) still sitting at my computer trying to avoid my parents who will doubtless nag me about whether I have got a job yet...

I'm quite good this evening, getting over the flu and playing a videogame.
I have to apply for University entry this month (had a year's break this year), and get my driving license (I keep forgetting to book ion for the test ).
And it's time for dinner, so I'll be back later.

Oh - you said that you just needed to take your test...not even got your provisional? There'll be a whole long way to go for both of us 'till our boy racer dreams come to fruition

On average (depending on area) it's something like 3 months before the actual test comes through, so you'll have ages yet.Originally posted by Kameleon

Just a question, is there much point in learning to drive before going to Uni, it seems like you wont be doing much driving when you are there anyway
@Ode, what are you planning on doing?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

There's a multiple choice test you need to take before you get your "L" plates (with which you may drive if accompanied by a fully qualified driver), after which you take more written tests and a hazard perception course and get you P plates, which allow you to drive on your own under certain limitations.
University down here begins from February to as much as early May.
@Sleep-I'm planning on studying Philosophy and Ethics. Not very useful in getting a job but it's something I want to learn.

So you will have a few months of "Boy racerism"?
Sounds interesting, there will be a lot of work involved, how will you adapt do you think?

I have a pakistani license, but it doesnt cut it here.
I have to do
1. First aid (12 hours over 3 days)
2. Written test (2 hours 1 day)
3. 8 to 10 hours with a special school which will certify me for getting a learner license.
4. Getting the police to ok it and then testing through them.
5. After all that i get the learner license.
6. Practice.
7. Give the bloody test.
It is so annoying here.

I doubt I'll go through the boy racer stage, so far my close friends have proven to be careful drivers (and on the occasions where my dad has taken me for driving practice out in the bush so have I). Some of my distant friends are terrible drivers though, I've genuinely feared for my life when driving with some of them.
I don't know, my best friend who did the course this year says there's not many contact hours, but there's a lot of homework. I think I'll enjoy getting back to studying though, especially without the stupid pointless sports days of high school and the less stifling atmosphere of Uni.

In Norway you can start practice driving when you`re 16.
1. The person you`re driving with must be 25 years and had the license for 5 years continually
2. There has to be a extra rear view mirror for the teacher.
3. The hand brake must be in the middle of the front seats. (You can`t practice with a Mercedes )
When you approach 18 you start on a driving school where they teach you theory and you start driving with a instructor. Some driving is obligatory. 11.5 hours covering driving on icey surface , nightdriving, passing other cars , citydriving and a long tour (2-3 hours). You take a theory test with the school and then you`re ready for the test with the authorities. If you pass the theory you get an appointment to drive with one of the sensors.
Then, if you pass, you have your license.
