I Love All Of You (No Spam)

Post by frogus »

As I have just heard some tragic news that Dottie is considered to be "depressing" by Aqua-Chan, I have decided to start a thread to try and go some small way towards nullifying the awful hurt which he must feel in his heart right now.
So what belongs in this thread is:
Things you like about people. If you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all, you griping little toe-rag.
Do not tell us what you dislike about people, and do not generalise on basis of creed, colour or class etc.
Now let's all sit in a circle and hold hands. Breath outwards and try to imagine that it is not air which you eject from your body, but sin, vice, carnality, evil, wickedness, and insect-pornography. Now say something which will make us all smile, without causing any hurt to anyone.
Insults are punishable by flogging.
I hate the world.
Stomach in, chest out, GO!

Are we supposed to be saying nice things about specific people or life in general? I'll do both.

Things that make life worthwhile:

Sunsets on the beach.

Make-up sex after a fight.

Fresh sushi.

Watching children open presents on Christmas morning.

Waking up next to the person you love more than life itself.

Listening to your grandmother tells stories on your father.

Parasailing.

Having your kids make breakfast in bed for you; sure it may be unpalatable and might even be poisonous, but it's the thought that counts.

Realising that 90% of the time, your parents were right.

Realising that since you turned out okay, chances are your kids will, too.

Some people around here and the reason(s) I like them:

fable: for letting us tease him about his age.

Vivien: for the hugs.

Aegis: even though he's Canadian.

C Elegans: for keeping the rest of us honest.

Ned Flanders: for knowing that everyone in West Virginia isn't an inbred, toothless, gun-toting redneck.

Hey, frogus, is that warm and fuzzy enough for you?

PS-If I didn't mention you by name, it's not personal, but I don't want to be accused of using this thread as an opportunity to up my words per post count.

ROFL, This was a, to me unknow side of you frogus. :D

@CM: I like your ability to present a matter that you seem to feel rather strong about in a very unbiased manner. :)

@Dragon Wench: If you havnt guessed already your open mindness have always appealed to me. :)

@Yshania: You display a kind sense of humour, without being a whimp. ;)

@Tom: Your posts in various debate threads have been a really nice and funny addition to the board imo. :)

@Frogus: I guess you're tired of people nagging about your age, but ill do it anyway. You're imo a perfect example why the voting age should be lowered considerably. Infact you're such a good example your giving me a inferiority complex from time to time. ;)

There are several more people that have qualities that i would like to take up here, but i'll leave some to the rest of you. ;)

Edit: a small addition about someone I think deserves it, @Delacroix: your views on global politics are very apreciated. :)

I would like to say that I love almost everyone here. I don't know several people very well, but that can wait until I get to talk to them :)

I love that there are so many different types of people here...that I can learn just a little bit by listening quietly :)

*hugs everyone*

Well lets see here.....
@CE She has been one of the nicest people on the board, and she is very intellectual in some of her posts

@Viv She also has been nice and fun too. The hugs dont hurt either ;) :D

@BS Welcomed me from the moment I entered the forum and has been cool to talk to

@Kam He drives me insane and makes my paranoia excell beyond comprehention, but its all good and can be humerous too.

@Ned More sports talk and border in other interests aswell makes good fuel for conversation

@Ysh Another person who has been friendly to me here since I met her.

@AC She teases me a lot, she threatens me with her axe and plasma rifle and always seems to SMACK me, but thats a lot of fun too

@Ode He also has been good for quite a few good conversations and the fact that he always wants to get me in trouble has always puzzled me a bit ;) :D

@Tam A few boring nights at SYM have been more exciting when he offers a random conversation when no one else is on.

@Mah The noble paladin, hes good for either a serious or a fun conversation, either way, its all good.

@Fas Well it seems he needs assistance to run away from the hugs and I try and help him. He does the same for me, when Im in trouble

@Rob-hin Ive had quite a few good funny conversations and informative conversations with him here at SYM

And of coarse the mods: most notably Sleep, Fable, and T' All are fun to talk to-Fable for usually more intellectual conversations, T' for fun conversations, and Sleep for Blagg ;) -and also he can be funny and good for a long, entertaining conversation. But theyre all good mods, too.

If you are not mentioned, its nothing personal, I might get to know you better down the line, or something along those lines...
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Oh wow, a love-in, I wasn't too late for the 60s after all! ;)

To be honest, I have met many wonderful people on this board :) I was actually discussing this earlier today with Ysh....the fact that SYM is a genuine community, as opposed to many other boards which tend to be hostile, agressive and disrespectful. Numerous people here have actually met in RL, and personally, I count some of the individuals I have met here to be amongst my closest friends :)

(note, I do not distinguish between "RL" and "OL" friendships, to me there is little difference)

A big thanks to all of you for being an important part of my life :)

OMG...I have not been THIS warm and fuzzy for quite some time, I need a drink to recover from the shock  ;)

"...As I have just heard some tragic news that Dottie is considered to be "depressing" by Aqua-Chan..."
Now wait one minute! I was kidding with him! :o :(

Psh...

Dragon Wench: She showed me to the SYM, and, is very nice.

Viv: Lots hugs, she backs me up and has a friendly attitude. Gotta love her. :)

Georgi: The King of Spammers, she taught me SMACK and showed me spam. Really miss her... :(

BS: We hang out a lot and have gotten... "close". :D

Tybby: I threaten him, and he doesn't seem to mind. he's fine to mess around with.

Fas: Anti-DF, drinks all my tea, outwits me all the time... But hey, I like him.

Odie: Bugs me about Anomen, but is mostly just playing around.

Ysh: Our Totemic VS Avenger arguements are a lot of fun. It's what ties us together as friends.

Sleep: We goof off when we can. Spam is our thing.

T': Defends me from BS.... :D

Mah: Drops in, makes fun of me, we're friends.

Dottie: When we do talk, he pretty funny, if somewhat depressing (Just kidding!) :D

UserUnfriendly (Not an SYMer, but still): He is the only person who can make fun of Anomen and make me laugh at the same time. :D

That's all for now. More to come...

Well, I've never made any bones about liking everybody, here, and if you're reading this, you probably know it. :D If I mentioned a few folks in particular, I'd offend the rest, and I don't feel at the moment like writing the individual reasons for each of you, since my wife and I just exhausted ourselves.

And no, I don't mean we walked up a flight of stairs. ;) In any case, I'm glad you're all here, and hope you will be for some time to come. :)

Too much information... :o

This sums up it for me. Where else are you going to find an Inet forum where the elder member of the community sticks out his chest and boasts of his sexual prowess. Cheers

Pretty much, I love the fact that I'm a member of an outstanding online community that continues to grow every day.

btw fable, I haven't checked HLD's 'life in high school' thread today but I'm still waiting to hear from you there so I can get a better image of what education was like when the classroom was a cave. :D ;)

Not to mention the extracurricular activities like skipping class to throw stones at mammoths and the etiquette of the skool cave dance. :D

Hey, now! I did nothing of the sort. I only said that my wife and I were engaged in conubial activities, and that was responsible for my lack of energy in the last few moments. I don't boast about sexual prowess. It seems to me that people who spend time boasting about such things have little time for the more important things in life--like music, art, literature, long walks, and sex. :)

This is a thread I like. :) I'll get all mushy now.

My entries:

dragon wench: Quite simply one of the best people I have ever had the privilege of getting to know. :)

Yshania: Another such person. It's a pity several time zones keep me from interacting with her more. :(

Ode to a Grasshopper: I love his mom's halberd, it's really cool. Ode is just a neat indivdual.

Maharlika: Mag beer muna tayo! Maharlika has a great wit and is also an all-around good guy. :D

Mr. Sleep: His ascent into Godhood is coming along quite nicely, I see. Sleep is a jolly good fellow for all seasons. Here's a Guinness in your honor!

Weasel: Lurking behind the lurking evil tyrant is an honest to goodness nice guy. Here's a slab of Possum pie in your honor! :p

BS: I don't know him very well, but I like him just the same.

Aqua-Chan: I know I haven't been around in ages - and perhaps she's forgotten me already - but I how could I forget my first official PM buddy? ;) I like AC - she's neat.

Tamerlane: He has really good comebacks, and strikes me as being quite the intelligent individual.

T'lainya: Yeah, I don't know her at all, but judging by what she posts, she's quite possibly another one of those "best people" that you'd really like to get to know. :)

Aah, a feel good thread. If I leave you out, my apologies, but I'm certain that there is a limit to the message length. Your all wonderful guys and gals ;)

Special mention however.

Odie- Another local boy, even if he does live on the other side of town. Plus a decent spammer  :p

Georgi- For filling up my Inbox and for actually having similar music taste to mine.

Sleep- SYM's biggest cynic and all round nice guy.

SLURR's- For the great conversations

Tybs- For making me ignore my IT studies with those "random conversations"

Kid- The Anime Thread, my reason for popping into SYM :)

fable/HLD/CE/Curdis etc.- For making my visits to SYM educational

Fas- He's the guy you love to hate, and he makes a decent batch of tea ;)

Mah- Its not often people share the same time zones as me, so I try to keep hold of the ones that do. Mah's great

@Chanak, I'm...smart :eek: :D :)

Well, this is something you're not likely to find anywhere else. And I think it is precisely what makes the GB community such a wonderful place.

Unfortuantely I haven't had a chance to meet most of you yet (but that should change eventually), but those I have met have all been very friendly, intelligent and considerate people.

Special mention goes to:

HLD: A fellow technogeek is always a friend. Actually Ned and Sleep fall into this one too.

CE: Intellect extraordinaire. I have learnt so much from your posts.

Weasel: Always, um, interesting I suppose is the closest word. And amusing.

Viv: I'm yet to meet, but she has to be the friendliest one here.

Fable: Someone has to keep us young 'uns in line, and why not the most informed chap I've ever met online.

Everyone else: For participating in and enriching such a great place. :)

Yeah, you're pretty smart @Tam. A bit innocent though. :p

Anyhow, I have countless people I'd like to mention, basically if you're a regular (or even semi-regular) poster here chances are you're my friend in some way. :)

I'll do the specifics when I have a bit more time, as it is it'd take far too long. ;)
