Living with limited wishes (spoilers about the limited wish?)

Post by serjeLeBlade »

We wanted the Glasses of Identification.
We wanted the Full Plate +2.
We wanted the life-saving Chain Contingecy on the main char, and all the Negative Plane Protections, and the Gong Quest too.
We wanted too many things and poor Jan was going to get mad (or more likely, hurt) ;) trying to pull limited wishes out of wild surges everyday.

So I did it.
Despite my supposedly awesome wisdom, I had Kelsy choose Limited Wish as his first (and unique for long time since) seventh-level spell.

Now we have a sorcerer that can cast three limited wish a day :)
No wait... we have a sorcerer that must cast limited wish three times a day!
(Aren't we going to waste some of them, are we?) :D

It took just 2 days to use up all (much wanted) one time wishes.
(We're saving just a couple of them for harder times)

Now the question is... what can we do with all those "repeatable" wishes?

Open for any suggestion.
Healing the party is good, ok. Negative plane protection is very good (if you happen to have vampires around).
But what if you happen to be in full health and have already killed all the vampires available?
(I tried to use the wish to regain used spells, but that thing seem totally random. How many spell levels are restored? And who is gonna get'em? Is there any way to choose? Can't figure out)

So far, the only really always-fun-and-useful combat use that I devised is: wish globes of invulnerability on all party members and then ... fireball-lightningbolt madness! :D
Oh, now Jan's really using that free Fireballs and Lightnings from the Staff of The Magi at last... !
(Without killing us with it, i mean).
And Kelsey still has six fireballs to fire a day...
(I forgot the meaning of the words "Flame Arrow")  :D

(Any comments/suggestions for other tricks?)
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

A good site for info on any spell is the one made by Xyx He has listed all the effects and required wisdom of the limit wish choices.
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

My list started out mostly based on Dan's, but I decided to be thorough and do some extra research. :) Dan provides an immesurable wealth of detail, but I wanted a bit more depth in the tactics department.

Don't forget to try the bunnies. ;)

@Zelgadis: In fact, I was planning to visit Xyx's site just yesterday. Thanks for the link.

@Xyx: thanks for the great job done. I think I discovered what my problem with restoring spell was... I can get back only spells of level 4 or lower? So if I had cast only higer level spells, I get nothing?

I tried the bunnys already... I also had a great plan for them... "Strength of one" :D
But they don't want to attack my enemies :(

Oh well, I think I'll go on with globes just to annoy all my opponents with entangle, stinking cloud, fireball and the like.
These spell I can get back, after all ;)

Thanks again

IIRC, its 2 spells of levels 1-4 only. Very handy for replacing stoneskins or minor sequencers or MMMs etc etc. :)
