On a personal level, it was my first pc game where the object was to have logic prevail, instead of guns/swords or tactics ;) .

On a wider scale, my fascination for it stems from the interesting concept of creating your own worlds with writing and the whole of D'ni culture. All my copies of the Myst series came with a "making of"-cd, which makes you appreciate the effort that went into making the games even more. The enthusiasm with which the brothers Miller set out to create a story millions of gamers worldwide could enjoy and really become a part of, carried over to me :)

Good luck with job hunting too, are you makeing fast progress, or having a more relaxed attitude?
You know me... :D

So I have a question for any of you guys who might be around (or when you come back on Monday) - if you're dancing in a club (if you don't dance, just imagine, ok?) and you go and dance near some girl... what does it take to convince you that she's not interested and would rather you went away?
Who, me?!?

Pepper spray

Dance with another guy

Dance with another girl (but you have to be careful that you don't convey the "let's have a threeway" message)

Swift kick to the shins

Get a drink and dance somewhere else

Go tell a bouncer that he tried to sell you crack
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

ROFL :D

I was thinking more without being mean... I don't think it's actually possible. One can be as politely disinterested as can be, and they just don't get it  Dancing with girlfriends rarely works either ;)

@Dottie awww *hug* :D Then you're one of the guys it's safe to dance next to ;)

Don't worry about being mean. Most guys are used to rejection; in fact, many expect it. If you don't let him know that he has absolutely no chance with you, he'll think that there's a slight chance and he'll keep dancing in your vicinity.

If you don't know him, it's okay to be a little mean to him because chances are that he'll just move closer to another girl on the chance that she might be interested in dancing with him.

But I do... I must just be too nice ;) :D

Plus I still don't see how being completely ignored, or even glared at, counts in some guys' heads as still being in with a chance...?

@Dottie I guess it's ok as long as one wears steel toecapped boots :D

Morning! :)

It's armor. Even in today's urban Western societies, most relationships between the sexes are struck up by guys. They have to take the first step. This also means the risk of being struck down. I still remember my fear of same back when I was a teen, living in a culture that only valued jocks.

So some guys grow psychological plate mail. They're insensitive, crass, pushy, and on occasion, disgusting. Blame them, but only to an extent. Blame the system, too.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Curious, I distinctly remember kicking your ass in that Vega vs. Vega fight... among others :p
I seem to recall that more of the 'others' went to me in victory...such as the myriad Chun Li battles? Chun Li was your 'best' character, didn't you say? :p

Greetings Rob.
Boy, you are desperit for conversation, arent you? Has it been this quiet all day?
Well the game was one-sided, but I like kill-offs occasionally. Poor poor Detroit lost 49-21, that score probably means nothing to you, but trust me, thats a bad score if you want a close game. The other games were constantly updated, and it looks like there were several close games, not being aired here.

So how has it gone today for you?

Hmmm....that sounds like my typical weekend:
Get some pizza and/or chips and a mountain dew. Turn on the tv-to college football, pro football, or NASCAR/CART and just relax for 4 hours. :D

Film bashing is fun. I watched The Postman, Battlefield Earth, etc. etc. just to bash them along with my brother. I love it. :D

I thought you were a worker rather than a student. Are you a fellow college student like myself? If so, is the work hard where you go? Whats your major?

Yep, I'm still in school. :)
So far, I didn't have to chose a major just yet. On my school, the first year is a general year. (We call it propedeuse) When I finish this year in 4 months, I get to pich my "direction'.
I'm going to do Commercial economics.
I'm going to be representative for a company, an accountant manager.(just like my dad :D )

So far, it's been pretty easy.
I haven't failed any test, and I didn't have to study much so far. So thats pretty cool.

What about you?

Thats cool. So you are a freshman aswell?

That sounds like a good line of work-lots of money! :D

As for me, school started on Wednesday, I still have yet to do the work due for tomorrow, but Ill get it done soon. Classes have been basically introductory classes, so not much homework. As far as my major......Well Im undeclared at this very moment, but if things go well I could aim for a history, geography, or statistics major. If I can become decent in engineering, I could enter the field of GIS-which is a geography major, that pays TONS of money and is sought after, commonly. One has to be adept at engineering, art, cartography, and social sciences. Im good at all of those other than engineering, which is the general problem with that field. History and statistics fields could be accomplished pretty easily, and I wouldnt struggle very much. But this is whats going through my mind after 1 week of college. Whats going to be going through my mind after 2 years of college? I dunno. :D

Sound cool!
I'm sure you'll make the right decision on your major.

LOL!
I just found out all my homework for the whole year is on the internet!
Heh, I hardly do anything as it is. So I'll best make it myself. :D
