Poll:Racial enemy

Post by Stilgar »

I love rangers, their the best class of the game (all sub-classes).
But what did you all pick for racial enemy.
And why?
I choose vampires cause they are anoying or dragons, cause they are strong
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

i play ranger/cleric
and i choose Vampires because there are a lot of vamps in this game.
but i think u should had go for Dragons,Golems or Demons, because looking forward to ToB i think they are a better Racial enemy then Vamps.
(they are eas even in the middle of the game with the mace of disruption +2)

I'm sure they'll still be challenge because after a few vampires you won't be level 20 anymore. :D Anyways, I pick mind flayers because the faster you get rid of them, the better. I think there are enough items that protect you from level drain, and that is the only really dangerous thing about them.

I choose Mind Flayers because there are no magical ways to get rid of them quickly. For tough enemies like dragons and demons, there are spells like Bolt of Glory, and even more spells and items to nuke the undead. Mind Flayers, however, have high magic resistance, so it's best to just pound them before they can kill you with their intelligence drain.

I would choose goblins only because they would make sense to be a ranger's enemy. A wandering ranger in the woods would probably not come across golems and vampires. Its logical to have goblins but its up to you. Sometimes goblins can be really tough. Once a party of goblins wiped out my whole party with brute force. They smacked their groins with their axes. It was painful.

I believe trolls are said to be the natural ennemy of all Rangers, being so unnatural and all...

In the past I always choose demons/devils cuz the faster you get rid of them the better. Nowadays, I always choose Mind Flayers cuz the urgency to get rid of them sooner is greater. (in my Ranger/Cleric game in the past, the only way I could kill Mind Flayers is by using the cheesy sanctuary-blade barrier tactic and that took SO long cuz they usually make their saves) Also, without a doubt, Mind Flayers are really my most hated creature in BG2!

I personally don't think Vampires to be a good choice... sure there are a lot of them but their greatest threat is their level draining ability and there are items and spells to prevent this from happening. Also, Minsc has Vampires as his racial enemy and if you're a Ranger/Cleric or have a cleric with you, at high levels, turn undead will just make those nasty vamps explode! :)

If I was a ranger I would either go for Golems (since their strong and frequent) or vapires (for the same reason as Golems) :D

Yeah, true. Mind flayers are some damn annoying foe.
I usually just cast invisiblity, Fire shild, mirror image, imroved haste, globe of invulnerability and then Slayer change. Thats takes care of that! HAHHAHAHA  :D

First time around I chose Mind flayers simply because I don't like the idea of eating other's brains. Second time I choose vampires since they are wo annoying. :D

I'd have to say that I pick capitalists.

Between, trolls and humans were once the same but they split up and evolved in different ways.

Racial Enemy....
I remember trying out BG2 first time as a ranger. I thought, those blasted kobolds weren't going to mess with me again. Didn't even know about Trolls, Vampires and Golems etc.

Ended up starting again as a sorc, but I would choose, Golems due to their variety and effectiveness in dispatching away my fellow party members.
