Thanks to a certain cunning logic, sexual abuse is crueler than murder. A bit like the way in which murdering someone of one age is acceptable in Europe, but killing children is not, though you can kill Aerie when pregnant.

I agree with Quitch's musings. :)

Come on, Quitch, it's human, the murder of a child is more shocking

Not to me. Child, adult, they're still dead.

Yup, double standards abound in society...

Aphril (spelling?) being dropped from the European version of the spellhold confrontation...very strange.

Not to me. Child, adult, they're still dead.

But when they were still alive, reality had a different impact
on them.
And kids have a higher... role, in the world.
I think they should be preserved with the HIGHEST priority.
(yet another young girl killed in Italy....)

BTW, Kopywrite, you have to be right, I never heard of that Aphril!

Aphril is the little girl in Spellhold that sees thing from other planes (a la "The Sixth Sense" :D ).
I cannot be caged.
I cannot be controlled.
(I probably cannot be contained either) :p ;)

Understand this as you die,
ever pathetic, ever fools.

Then at what age does someone become less valued by society? Considering you can have abortions, at what age does concern for well-being start? The only reason I see for age is due to life left to live, therefore are successful people to be mourned more than ones who did not achieve so much? Why is it more acceptable to murder one age group than another?

What a class society you would impose upon us.

It's easier, Quitch.
In my ideal world, aged people THEMSELVES would hold kids as the
greatest treasure. It's not an imposition.
In my ideal world ALL parents (as mine) would work not just for them,
but mainly to grant to their sons the happiest life they can.
No doubt.. should ALL work this way, even aged people would last
longer and happier.

Oh, I'm against abortion, of course. You take your risks when you...
have fun, killing in the process (killing, yes) is pure egoism.

So in your ideal world the older you get the less valued you become? We have that, it's called western civilisation.

Wow, so much to look forward to, knowing that with each passing day your death becomes more acceptable in the eyes of others.

Ah, against abortion. So rather than having the child killed, you would consign it to a live of torture with a family that doesn't want it, or packed off to an orphanage where the odds are immediately stacked against it, and the chances of it becoming a burden on the rest of society increase dramatically?

Each passing day death should be more acceptable in YOUR OWN eyes.
Civilization couldn't change nature's laws, so far.
But we have the conscience to understand the flow of things and change our perspectives.

Yes.
I have grass outside my home growing almost on rocks..

He could even be more capable of his incautious parents and live a successful life..

This is the second time this topic has veered into areas best explored in the SYM (Speak Your Mind) category. I already cautioned once, but the content just seems to draw out non-BG2, highly emotive issues. I'm closing it. Any further discussion of rape, the relative value of a child's death, etc, should be under SYM. Thanks.
