Yup, I too hang around olny at this board.
I do, however, have another (dutch) board where I sometimes post. Most of the times it's about hardware prices or advice and random games like GTA3.
My post count there is like 50 or so, unlike my (now) almost 1800 here. :D

Oh yeah, and the buffyboard of my little brother... but it's no real succes, he only has 7 members. :(

GB suits my taste, thank you.

I have never registered in other forums with this kind of format. I just lurked, and see what they come up with.

Is it me (no, no brown-nosing here) or are there other forums (not necessarily the same kind of service GB offers) out there with the kind of matured and disciplined culture we have here?

Hmmm... should that be a rhetorical question? Well for as long as one doesn't violate GB forum rule #4...

...then again it's okay since you are answering the original poster's question. ;) :D

Dont worry about it, Baron. You just clashed with a few members. You have done nothing terribly wrong. BB/AR whatever is just flaming too much. I thought he was an ok guy, but he has shown a side, a side I dont like too much. Flaming has no place in our sanctuary of fun. Thats what SYM is, and when that fun is disturbed, the offender will have forces to deal with. So no worries. He'll get whats coming to him. Banned land.

...I agree with Tybs, Baron. You're doing fine. The beauty of SYM is that you don't have to conform with issues and opinions. If there is anything to conform then that would be Buck's Rules.

@Frogus: In order to not deviate from your thread, I lurked for some time at the NWN official forum and I must say, it still pales in comparison with what is offered and HOW it is offered by the men and women of GB. ;)

I am just going to post a quote from one of my first replies in GB. It still rings true for me today..BTW I feel you guys are a blessing...

DITO!!!!I am Verrrrry new to the gaming community, but it is my newest obsession, and I wan't to thank/applaud/admire/and support Buck and the GB community for having the best site on the net. I have never played a game before which held my interest the way MW has and without this community I probably would not have enjoyed it nearly as much.(And that is the bottom line on what these forums are about, right?) You guys are a great community, and I enjoy stopping in each day to see what y'all have posted and what new thoughts or questions have been thrown out there.
I have searched, and still search, every MW site my SE pulls up and I promise no site out there has the info, class, or quality of people that this site has. Kudos to all the members for keeping it a notch above, and hats off to Buck or setting the tone.
Daddy always said "If you wanna play, you gotta pay" and there is nothing wrong for charging for services well rendered. I have been a member for a month now and this is the first time I have run across anything re: finances, so obviously Buck isn't being solicitous about it, but if I had known about the costs and offset I would have gladly payed my way. It's well worth it!!!
So on my last note, letme say @Buck: Thank You for hosting the BEST D*** FORUM ON THE WEB
@ The GB Community: Glad to Meet Ya !!!

Good thread.

First discussion board for me was BZ2. I learned a lot there about flames.

Then I got my DVD fix from dvd.reviewer.co.uk and dv-depot.com.

Gamebanshee really sucked me in, obviously.

Since then I have been on Civ3 and America's Army. The former became boring quick - too many moviegoers and gamesters who thought that gave them a PhD in History - the latter is kinda fun if you get over the ridiculously steep "newb" curve that comes with FPS games.

Gruntboy on all of them. :)

I belong to a number of different forums, one rpg related, one lfor a developer of logic games, and a number of music forums. :) I have different names on all of them :D The logic game group is very small and mostly topic oriented. One of the music forums is quite nice and the sense of community reminds me of GB. Most of the others while enjoyable, aren't as pleasant as GB :)

And BTW Frogus has asked already for people to not spam this topic so try and comply.

This is the first board I've ever joined. I enjoy the banter that goes on here. It's fun to read and has a serious element to it.

Well I have gotten out of games, and got into racing my car...So I belong to many car(specifically camaro and trans am sites) based message boards. I am building a little rep around as a car guy, but I still check in here to keep up with current events. :)

I first got the web WAAAAAAAAAY back, and just searched, then I baught BG, and went to BI's site, went here.

Well I was amazed! Then the D&D forums went up, and went to the offical D&D boards, then someone posted about a gnome's diary and I went to Enworlds forum. That was, That. Thats where I am today.

Great repatation? Yup, for a bad speler/gramatically incorrect and flaming weasel(that WAS program generated :o keep it a secret though) also when ratings were around giving Grunty a 1.

Well lets just say i've calmed downa nd gotten better at spelling. Some of my friends can't spell Iorn! :D

*Good thing I remembered my password. First post in months.*

The GB forums were the first and only boards I have ever posted in. I never had the intention of staying but I guess the people and discussions were what kept me here (to a certain extent). Nowadays I am finding it extremely difficult to get some time on my own, let alone browsing the forums here.

*sigh*

Whaaaaat?! :D

You little rugrat. :D

Craig, you have indeed got a bad reputation for spelling. Is all the crack you smoke impairing your cognition?

:p

You have given me some great flames, BTW, and I'm usually too shocked to respond...

LMAO, respect.

EDIT, I think I am getting a reputation but the boards are so disparate. I savage people in DVD reviewer - they're so pompous and British (ugh). I'm a clown at the Depot, who are a great bunch.

Having lots of fun on America's Army at the moment with people who take the game too seriously....
