Stuck in Severed Hand, need spoilage

Post by paulsbo »

I found Mandal's body, went down to level 3 and recoverred his sword, but for the life of me, I can't find his wandering spirit to continue the quest. I know where the modified root is supposed to be, but when I went there from where the wyvern collapsed the floor, I couldn't find the root. Where is his wandering spirit? I thought it was supposed to be in that throne-room like room, but I can't find him.

Thanks in advance.

Umm . . . your not in the Severed Hand, you're in Dragon's Eye.

The spirit is on Dragon's Eye, level 2 on the east side of the map. There is a long corridor where a boulder comes down if you try to go there. You can easily dodge the boulder and at the end of this corridor is a big treasure chest and a body, this is where the spirit is and he'll show you to the fake mandrake. An interesting note for anyone who hasn't played the origonal Icewind Dale. The first two levels of Dragon's Eye are the exact same layout in Icewind Dale 2 as they were in Icewind Dale 1. Instead of a corny boulder trap, this was beetle central in the origonal, not sure why I bothered to write this, heh heh.

Thanks very much. I can't believe I screwed up the Severed Hand/Dragon's Eye. Just chalk it up to brain damage, I guess.

Thanks for your reply.
