How can I re-order my characters permanently in multiplayer?

I created all 6 of my characters for BG2 at the beginning of the game to be played by myself in multiplayer mode. But I didn't know that the creation order would also be the order I would have to play them in formation in the game. In other words, I now have fighters in the wrong place (ie. not the front lines). So I would like to permanently switch their places in my line up. I know I can re-order them after the game is loaded, but this gets annoying time after time.

Is there some way to reorder my characters permanently so I don't have to do this with each loading of my savegames?
