And just that. Which perks did you like, or hate?

pretty much all of them, which annoys me when i have to choose.

i'm generally not too keen on the skills that give you a small bonuse to, say, knowledge from books or whatever, and mysterious stranger is pretty useless once you come up against the enclave, but other than that, i love em all really

Most often when I played the game I play a sort of sniper character so these are some of the perks I choosed:

Awareness; gives so much infomation it can't be excluded. Knowing wich opponent has the laser rifle and the BB gun makes a huge difference in taking out the right one (okay - exagerating - but you get my point)

Better Criticals; This baby has made me one shot several opponents in the end game with the pulse rifle. Just aim for the eyes and watch them whither away.

Bonus Rate of Fire; combined with the right weapons this either let you make 3 amined shots or 2 amied shots with 2 left over MPs (at agility 10) Huge difference when taking down hard foes.

Sharpshooter; increase perception with 2 - speaks for itself for a sniper char.

Sniper; well - if you gonna use weapons - use this Perk.
With a succesfull luck roll - your shot will be a critical. Wich means at 6 luck - you have 60% chance of a critical. (and later in the game - my luck is usually 7-8 :D )

Tag; this one makes me take that presious high-tec weapon skill and thus increasing it twice as fast as normal. (effectively giving you 4 tag skills)

These PERKS lead up to the "ultimate" Fallout Sniper (my fav. type of combat) character :)

Besides this there are several others I have taken at some point or another - Gain increase in one of your SPECIAL(str, pec, end, cha, agi, luck) stats., Emphaty is nice etc.

yeah, i love snipers too, it's just the sheer coolness of getting criticals on enemies halfway across the map, while they have a negative chance to hit you and are getting critical misses and hitting each other all over the place. also it means you aren't in the way when a team member opens up with their minigun

Don't all perks have drawbacks? I remember that being the reason I didn't really like any of them except for Gifted (bro-ken!), so I took Gory Kills or something like that. Great to see creatures ripped to shreds from uzi bursts. :D

Gifed and Gory Kills etc aren't perks - they are traits.

Perks are the thingys/abilities you can choose very 3 level.

if u had high dex, action boy is pretty pointless. i'd rather fight better with bonuses to hits, damage and armor than fight more.

After you pump up your weapon skill to 150 or so, you get mostly critical hits anyway. Why bother with damage bonuses?

Because you can get better and more criticals ..... more damage, more carnage, more melting, more fun :D

Bonus rate of Fire is a MUST! :D Couple that with Fast Shot, action and the bozar and you can get up to THREE shots a turn. Fire the alien blaster 4-5 times a turn. That is...if you want to powergame. :D

aimed shots are nice - if only for the messages you get from pulling them off - but i can honestly say i don't know how i managed to fight without fast shot and using anything other than a pistol, let alone using rifles and aimed shots

I know how I managed to play without fast shot - it was like aimed shots at the eyes for critical one shot kills.
With pistol at close range also.

hm, i suppose you could also take bonus rate of fire. and you do get more criticals. and it does suit a sniper character. but then i'm playing solo, and i need as many bursts from my freaking minigun as i can now i'm up against the enclave.

I went solo through enclave also with sniperish character :) - Didn't get hurt much because I took everybody down in max 2 shots :)

Fast shot is proberly fun if you are a burst only character, but never been my playing style as I go for max damage per shot :D and bursts never proofed effective for me.

yeah, i do like to go for high damageeach shot, but i always have way too much ammo and guns, so i can afford bursts.

also there is the fact that some sections of the game are buggers without a party an all the nice little bonus damage and criticals perks, not to mention the fact that i usually have few skills over 100% and luck of only 6 or maybe 7. i need volume of fire as i can't rely on lucky shooting to keep me alive, rather good guns and a lot of shooting
