I don't like...

Post by Square »

Too much spell to turn you into a bad guy, or hold you or make you run around like a fool.
I want hand-to-hand battle!
Yeah, yeah once a while is challenging, but every battle that I went into? It's too much.
I actually killed Imoen several times.
Is there any thing to resist it?
I'm a paladin, and I say, KILL them all!

Erm... you're not gonna tell me you actually attack party-members that have been charmed or anything, do you?? When one or more in your party get charmed, you should avoid attacking them ... the charm will work out eventually, returning that character to you.

I know it's bad when your main-killing-machine gets charmed ... but when someone like Imoen or your wizard gets charmed, just put the tank of your party in their way, WITHOUT RETALLIATING! They will most like hardly hit your 'tank' at all - and then it's just waiting for the charm to work out.

But yes, I agree with you that these spells (confusion, charm, terror, hold, etc..) are too powerful, because they are so easy to use by the enemy. Some even have these as area effects ...

But there's also equipment available that make characters immune to these effects. And the berserker 'enrage' ability also makes characters immune for some of these effects.
